Transportation Guide - Start by crossing the border from Hong Kong to Shenzhen, then take the Shenzhen Metro to Shenzhen North Station. The high-speed train from Shenzhen North to Yueyang East takes as little as 3.5 hours, typically around 4 hours. (This trip cost me HK$1000 for round-trip tickets.)
Local Attractions -
Day 1: Cishi Tower, Dongting South Road (a different view at night!), Bianhe Street, Yueyang Tower Scenic Area (if time permits, you can visit Junshan Island).
Day 2: Jinyan Mountain Park, Sheng'an Ancient Temple, Yueyang Chinese Panda Garden, Bubugao New World Shopping Mall.
Day 3: Nanhu Square, Yueyang Museum, Nanhu Park.
(Note: Be mindful of the weather; avoid Day 2's itinerary if it rains.)
Accommodation - Jinlan Homestay in Yueyanglou District 👍🏻
Food and Restaurants - Suoshi Coffee ☕️ (I don't have any particular food recommendations.)
Shopping Guide - Official cultural and creative products are quite beautiful, and fridge magnets are easy to find.
(The total cost of the trip was approximately HK$2800. Most transportation was by taxi. Souvenirs and food were not very cheap, but tickets and accommodation offered the best value for money.)
