Liberty Square in Taipei is a significant cultural and historical landmark, especially because it encompasses the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall (on top of the National Theater, and National Concert Hall).
The square is not only a hub for cultural performances—hosting over 800 events annually—but also a symbol of Taiwan's journey toward democracy, notably serving as the epicenter for the 1990 Wild Lily student movement.
Visitors can enjoy leisurely walks through meticulously landscaped gardens, witness the hourly changing of the guard ceremony, and partake in various festivals and public gatherings held throughout the year.
The square is very easily accessible via the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall MRT Station.
