One of the most memorable sights from my first trip to Taiwan was the vastness of the National Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall.
Walking across the spacious square under clouds that shielded the sun, I could truly appreciate the charm of the open space.
This memorial hall was built to honor Chiang Kai-Shek, who is considered the founding father of Taiwan. Every hour on the dot, the changing of the guard ceremony takes place.
🌳 How to get there:
Get off at [Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall] MRT station.
🌻 Admission:
Free
⚘ Tip:
While the changing of the guard ceremony is fascinating, the view from the entrance leading to Chiang Kai-Shek's statue inside is even more captivating. Stand at the center, turn around, and look up at the sky.
How many steps lead up to the memorial hall? There are 89 steps, symbolizing Chiang Kai-Shek's age at the time of his passing.
