Michelin Dining in Taipei's Songshan District: Lin Ju

Celebrating its 2nd anniversary, the Cantonese private kitchen Lin Ju has once again been recommended in the 2024 Michelin Guide 🎉

Introduced by a friend who claimed their baby roast duck redefined his ranking of roast ducks, I immediately made a reservation to try it out 💞

For lunch, they offer various set menus. This time, we opted for the $15,000+10%/10-person menu recommended by a friend.

Signature Poached Chicken
One of the chef's specialties, this dish uses free-range chicken from Taitung's Luye Township. With a meticulous approach of preparing only one chicken at a time, the doneness is controlled at 95%. The chicken skin is aromatic and silky, while the meat is tender and flavorful, even without dipping in pepper.

28-Day Baby Duck
The duck is air-dried at low temperatures and roasted at high heat, resulting in crispy skin without excessive fat. Paired with the tender duck meat, it’s absolutely outstanding!!!

Wild Australian Tiger Prawns
The prawn shells are fried to a crispy perfection before being coated in a rich sauce. The doneness is spot-on, with the prawn meat being plump and juicy. A dining companion even joked about wanting to take this dish to-go 😂

Cantonese Soup
True to the essence of Cantonese soups, this one was incredibly flavorful and amazed everyone with its sweetness and depth.

Braised Beef Cheeks
The beef cheeks were tender and flavorful, with even the carrots absorbing the rich taste. A meat lover in our group declared it super delicious!

Traditional Cantonese Claypot Rice
Prepared with Chinese sausage and liver sausage, the rice is slow-cooked in a clay pot, absorbing the rich flavors of the sausages. The result is a golden, crispy crust at the bottom of the pot.

Lin Ju's Signature Dessert
The mango sago dessert was quite enjoyable.

The dishes were exquisitely prepared and delicious, with precise timing evident in the cooking process. Many dishes left us raving 💕

For dishes not specifically mentioned, they were relatively ordinary 😅
