Stay in a century-old house transformed by a designer!

Hey everyone! This trip, I stayed in a century-old house that has been beautifully revitalized by a designer. Every corner feels like a scene from a movie! From weathered brick walls to the collision of modern aesthetics, here are five moments that made the stay unforgettable. Let’s dive in and experience it together!
🌿 The moment you push open the creaky wooden door
The rusty copper door knocker serves as the "ID card" of the old house. The designer preserved its original weathered charm and paired it with a newly installed frosted glass door. Light filters through the patterns and spills onto the stone floor, creating a dialogue between old artifacts and modern materials. The housekeeper mentioned that the door knocker was specially sourced from an antique market and restored—this thoughtful detail really touched me!
🛋️ The comfort of sinking into an antique sofa
The carved sofa in the living room was actually repurposed from the old wooden beams of the house! Its surface has been reupholstered with off-white linen fabric, and the combination of vintage carved armrests and soft cushions is perfect. Sitting on it, sipping apricot tea brought by the housekeeper, and watching sunlight slant through the old wooden windows—it feels like time slows down.
🚪 Encountering the magic of light and shadow around the corner
The originally dim hallway was transformed by the designer, who opened up a wall and installed a movable glass partition. During the day, sunlight refracts through the glass, creating rainbow-like light spots, and at night, the warm light turns the glass into a hazy screen. Every time I pass by, I can’t resist taking a photo! The flow of movement has also become super smooth—you can now go from the bedroom to the courtyard without detours.
🍃 Morning exercise in a "sky garden" amidst the fields
The terrace has been converted into a glass sunroom! The designer retained the surrounding old brick walls, and the area is surrounded by birch trees. Practicing yoga here in the morning, with the blue sky and white clouds visible through the glass roof and only the sound of the wind rustling through the plants—it feels like living in a real-life version of "Little Forest"!
This stay completely changed my perception of guesthouses! Who knew old architecture and modern design could blend so stunningly? Every design detail carries a gentle respect for the passage of time. Save this amazing guesthouse for your next trip—it’s a must-visit! 🏡💫
