Laid-back Weekend from Singapore: Healed by the Waters of Tioman Island

#singaporetrip

Tired of city life in Singapore? While most people flock to Sabah or Semporna for island getaways, there’s a hidden gem just a short trip away — Tioman Island! It’s a duty-free paradise with crystal-clear turquoise waters, making it an underrated haven for snorkelers and chill-seekers alike. And yes — it’s super budget-friendly!

How to Get There:
Hop on a direct bus from Singapore to Mersing, then take a ferry to Tioman. There are two ferry companies: Bluewater and Cataferry — the latter is slightly pricier but newer and more comfortable. Choose based on your budget and preferences.

Where to Eat:
We found a Chinese seafood restaurant run by locals that offers delicious, affordable dishes — perfect for those who miss home-style flavors.

What to Do:
Definitely go for a snorkeling package! Ours was a full-day trip from 9am to 3pm, with about 12 people on the boat. We explored various vibrant snorkeling spots and grabbed lunch at Salang Village — so worth it!

Why It’s Worth It:
Tioman is the ultimate spontaneous escape. Whether you’re diving, snorkeling, watching sunsets, or just lying back at your hotel doing absolutely nothing — it’s all about recharging your soul by the sea. Total bliss!
