"Sumida River Trail": The fastest walking route from Asakusa to Tokyo Skytree, a must-see spot in Japan

Walk north from Asakusa Station along Sumida Park for about five minutes, and you will find a new "Sumida River Trail". This is a pedestrian walkway bridge newly built by Tobu Railway Company next to the Tobu Railway Viaduct. It opened in June 2020 and connects Asakusa and Tokyo Skytree on both sides of the Sumida River. It only takes 10 minutes to reach Tokyo Skytree, making it the fastest walking route from Asakusa to Tokyo Skytree.

There are two "lover's sanctuaries" on the bridge. You can see one as soon as you get on the bridge. There are many love locks on it!
