When it comes to popular cherry blossom viewing spots in Tokyo, #ShinjukuGyoen is definitely on the list. From the winter cherry blossoms in February, the Somei Yoshino cherry blossoms in March, the Ichiyo cherry blossoms and the Kanzan cherry blossoms in April, as many as 68 species and thousands of cherry blossoms are in full bloom. Many people bring their families to have picnics under the cherry trees and admire the pink sea of cherry blossoms. It's super romantic!
Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden covers a large area and has three entrances, corresponding to different subway lines: Shinjuku Gate in front of Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden on the Ginza Line, Okido Gate, and Sendagaya Gate at JR Sendagaya Station. Admission to the park is ¥500.
The vast lawn square and beautiful Japanese garden are particularly popular in spring and autumn, with pink cherry blossoms and fiery red maple leaves, which are breathtakingly beautiful. However, you need to make an appointment in advance during the flower season, otherwise you won’t be able to squeeze in!
