Edo Fuji: Seafood Bowls Piled as High as Mount Fuji

If you're looking for a truly satisfying seafood bowl in Tokyo, 江戸富士 (Edo Fuji) is the place to go! Known for its generous portions, this restaurant serves seafood bowls piled as high as Mount Fuji itself, leaving you so satisfied that you might not crave sashimi for months.

Edo Fuji offers a unique experience with its seafood bowls, where the seafood outweighs the rice. Each bowl is topped with fresh, seasonal seafood, creating a visual and culinary delight that will make you think, "Is this Mount Fuji in a bowl?" 🤤

🕰 Limited Operating Hours for a Special Lunch
Edo Fuji operates only during lunch hours:
✔ Hours: Mon-Fri 11:30 AM–2:00 PM, Sat 12:00 PM–2:00 PM (Closed on Sundays)
✔ Early closure if ingredients run out

Due to its limited hours and small size, Edo Fuji often has a waiting line. On a weekday at 12:30 PM, I found myself waiting for about 30 minutes with three groups ahead of me. Interestingly, even when tables were available, the staff didn’t immediately call in the next waiting group. It’s worth gently opening the door to check the situation if you’ve been waiting outside for a while.

✔ The restaurant is small, with one chef and an elderly lady managing the hall, which might explain the slower pace.
✔ There’s an indoor waiting area, so it might appear empty from outside.

On another visit, I arrived at 11:30 AM sharp, only to find that all tables were already occupied. I had to wait for 40–50 minutes until the first round of diners finished. Despite the wait, the food was so delicious that it made the time spent worthwhile.

🍣 Edo Fuji Menu
The menu revolves around a basic seafood bowl (上バラ海鮮丼) priced at 2,500 yen, which can be customized with additional toppings:
✔ Fresh sashimi including tuna, yellowtail, shrimp, sea bream, eel, squid, oysters, and other seasonal fish.
✔ Optional toppings like ikura (salmon roe) or uni (sea urchin).

✨ Ikura Bowl (いくらのせ海鮮丼) → 3,900 yen
✨ Uni Bowl (うにのせ海鮮丼) → 5,900 yen

Even if you’re not a fan of ikura or uni, Edo Fuji might change your mind:
✔ Ikura here is fresh, not overly salty, and bursts with flavor.
✔ Uni is creamy, sweet, and free of any fishy taste, melting in your mouth.

🥣 Hidden Gem – Limited Fish Soup (魚汁)
Don’t miss the fish soup that comes with the seafood bowl. This limited-quantity soup is rich in flavor, with large chunks of fish and a hint of yuzu aroma. It’s the perfect complement to the seafood bowl.
✔ Included with your order
✔ Limited quantity, so it might run out later in the day

🔥 Tips for Visiting Edo Fuji
✔ Arrive before opening (around 11:10 AM) to minimize waiting time.
✔ Cash only – bring yen as cards are not accepted.
✔ Explore nearby attractions like Akihabara and Hijiribashi, featured in the anime "Suzume no Tojimari."

After experiencing Edo Fuji’s seafood bowl, you might find it hard to enjoy seafood bowls elsewhere. If you’re craving an authentic and satisfying seafood experience, Edo Fuji is a must-visit spot in Tokyo. 🍣✨
