[Slurp Udon, Savor Art]
Currently on display at Azabudai Hills "Gallery & Restaurant Butaiura," "Takuro Kuwata + Kiln-Fresh Udon" is an interactive exhibition by ceramic artist Takuro Kuwata where you can "enjoy udon in artistic bowls."
You can choose your favorite piece from boldly colored and textured bowls and actually serve and eat udon from it—an unprecedented art experience.
The idea started when Kuwata kneaded glaze with an udon-making machine. The concept of serving "kiln-fresh udon" in bowls just taken out of the kiln unexpectedly evolved into an exhibition.
Weekday tastings are available for 1,200 yen, and weekends for 1,600 yen, making it easy to experience (no reservation required). In the evening, a special dinner course (¥20,000 / reservation required) lets you fully enjoy Kuwata’s works from appetizers to dessert.
📍 Venue: Azabudai Hills Garden Plaza A B1F
📅 January 25 to March 16, 2025 (11 AM–8 PM / closed Mondays)
🚃 Direct access from Kamiyacho Station, so no worries even on rainy days
From "viewing" art to "using and eating" it. How about a dish that stimulates your senses?
