🌿 Discover the World of Ohara School Ikebana and Design at Omotesando Spiral

🎍 Ohara School Ikebana Exhibition Review

The Ohara School Ikebana exhibition has been held many times at Spiral, a cultural complex in Omotesando.

• Highlights: The Ohara School's distinctive style is its realistic use of natural flowers and plants, harmonizing them with the space. The exhibition hall featured a diverse range of expressions, from bold works using bamboo and branches to delicate works featuring a single flower.

• Dialogue with the Architecture: When flowers and foliage are arranged in the modern glass and white space of Spiral, the architecture itself becomes a "vessel," giving the flowers a more three-dimensional feel. The exhibition, illuminated by light streaming in from the atrium, was particularly impressive.

It was an experience of "rediscovering nature in the heart of the city."

🏛 About the Spiral Building

Designed by Fumihiko Maki & Associates in 1985, the Spiral Building is known as a cultural hub.
• Spiral Hall: The main space where exhibitions and performances are held.
• Spiral Garden: An open, glass-walled atrium where art exhibitions and events are held.
• Origin of the name: The building's symbolic spiral slope is meant to represent the "overlapping of time and the flow of people."

🛍 General Stores in the Building
• Spiral Market
A lifestyle shop located on the first floor. It offers a wide selection of domestic and international craft goods, designer stationery, tableware, and accessories, all of which are stylishly designed. Stop by during your business trip to find souvenirs.
• Recommendation: The original brand "+S" series. Simple and sophisticated everyday items are perfect for bringing back from your travels.

☕ Restaurants & Cafes within the Museum
• Spiral Café (1st Floor)
A stylish cafe befitting the artistic space. With a wide selection of salad lunches and sweets, it's perfect for savoring the afterglow of an exhibition.
We especially recommend teatime while gazing at the Omotesando streetscape through the glass windows.
• Restaurant Iconic (formerly Chef's Table)
This restaurant is located on the upper floor. Its modern French style makes it the perfect venue for a post-art event or special dinner.

✨ How to Enjoy a Tour + Walk Around the City
• Experience the "Dialogue Between Flowers and Architecture" at the Ohara Ikebana Exhibition
• Discover miscellaneous goods that connect art and life at Spiral Market
• Escape the hustle and bustle of the city at Spiral Café

Omotesando Spiral is truly an "urban cultural complex" where you can enjoy art, shopping, and dining all in one place. The Ohara Ikebana Exhibition further highlighted this charm.
