The moment you step into Shinjuku's Kabukicho, the narrow alleys are filled with lights and the low laughter of people, slowly warming the traveler's heart. Along the narrow streets, shoulders brush, small izakayas line the streets endlessly. Opening the door immediately reveals warm steam and the aroma of grilled skewers, stimulating even the hunger.
Each shop has a clear view of the kitchen, and the owners' busy hands are immediately visible. Leaning against a small bar table and sipping a drink, the unfamiliarity of being in a foreign land transforms into a sense of familiarity. Naturally, you can exchange a few words with strangers, experiencing the unique atmosphere of this alley.
A little further, and a shop with a completely different atmosphere appears. The yellow lights filtering through the alleyways warmly illuminate the Tokyo night. This isn't a flashy tourist destination, but a space where the energy of everyday life flows. There's a warmth to the place that can't be fully captured in a photograph.
Pausing to gaze down the alley, I immediately sense the age-old signs and the layers of time that have accumulated. Here, I once again realize that travel is ultimately a trail of emotions, a lingering memory of footsteps. The unadorned nights of Tokyo were truly beautiful.
