A Dream of Flying on White Hills: Senaga Island's Relaxing Ocean Views and Airplane Feast

This trip to Okinawa took me to Senagajima, located right next to Naha Airport. Its most famous attraction is "Umikaji Terrace," a seaside shopping village nestled against the hillside, comprised of pure white buildings and exuding a Greek-Mediterranean atmosphere.

The moment I stepped onto the island, I was captivated by this white world. Steps ascended, lined with a variety of unique shops. Although the weather was a bit overcast, the gentle sea breeze added a touch of leisure and comfort to the atmosphere. I strolled up the stairs, browsing the dazzling array of shops, from street vendors selling hamburgers and tacos to a famous dessert shop with a sign proclaiming "Lucky Pancake."

However, Senagajima's most unique charm is its prime vantage point for watching planes take off and land. From the terrace, I could see a few sailboats bobbing in the breeze against the azure sea. Not far away lay the runway of Naha Airport. I watched planes roar over the sea, slowly landing or taking off. The roar of the engines and the majestic presence of the planes made me stop and watch for a long time.

Tired from walking, I found a coffee shop called "AO.CAFE" and sat down. I ordered a dreamy blue special drink with a lemon slice. Sitting in a rattan chair, sipping a refreshing drink and enjoying the sea breeze, a cute cat napping beside me, the comfort and tranquility relaxed my body and mind.

Senaga Island is a holiday paradise that combines delicious food, shopping, and unique scenery. It combines the relaxed atmosphere of Okinawa with the thrill of watching planes. This trip allowed me to experience the unique charm of Okinawa.
