Jiaxing|Fill your heart with the sound of oars in Wuzhen and the poetry of the city in 2 days

It always feels like autumn in Jiangnan should be reserved for Jiaxing, where two kinds of gentleness are hidden: the water of Wuzhen is flowing poetry, and the alleys of the city are still paintings. Two days are just enough to fill yourself with this romance.

Day 1: Wuzhen — Stay in the morning mist of the thousand-year-old water alleys

Take the early boat to West Scenic Zone at dawn, watch the black-awning boats push through the thin mist, the sound of oars shattering the rosy light on the water. Walking on the bluestone paths, you will encounter indigo-dyed cloth hanging under the eaves, gently swaying in the wind like the blank spaces in ancient paintings. In the evening, be sure to find a teahouse by the river, watch the sunset dye the stone bridge warm gold, and listen to the old lady at the next table tell old stories of the water town. Time moves so slowly it can catch all your thoughts.

Day 2: City tour — Step poetry into the streets and alleys

• Cathedral: The Gothic spires reflect the white walls and black tiles of Jiangnan, sunlight streaming through stained glass, creating a gentle collision of Eastern and Western aesthetics.

• Duanbentang: A century-old residence hidden in an alley, the carved wooden window still holds the warmth of time. Push open the creaking wooden door and it feels like stepping into the past.

• Yanyu Tower: Standing upstairs looking at the vast misty waves of South Lake, you truly understand the artistic conception of “smoky rain towers,” the wind carrying the sweet freshness of water vapor.

• Yuehe River: The Yuehe River at dusk is most enchanting. When the red lanterns light up, the river reflects the houses on both banks. Walking here feels like moving through a painting.
