Toyama might be known for its nature, but it’s also a hidden gem for art lovers. With beautifully designed museums, peaceful public spaces, and a thoughtful blend of creativity and calm, it’s the perfect place to explore at your own pace.
I started at the Toyama Glass Art Museum, where the building itself is a work of art. Inside, light dances through glass installations in the most mesmerizing way—it’s both modern and magical.
Next, I headed to the Toyama Prefectural Museum of Art and Design. The exhibits were inspiring, and the rooftop garden offered stunning views of the Tateyama mountains—art meets landscape in the best way.
To wrap up the day, I wandered through Kansui Park, a wide open space with scenic canals and peaceful vibes. The famous Starbucks here? Definitely worth a stop.
Why I recommend Toyama for art lovers:
・The museums are world-class, yet never crowded—ideal for quiet inspiration
・You get to experience art, architecture, and nature all in one day
