It's actually a Buddhist temple.
But it is different from the Buddhist temples in China where people burn incense.
The front of the Japanese 10-yen coin is the famous Phoenix Hall of Byodoin Temple.

It is the phoenix statue on the roof of the Phoenix Hall in Byodoin Temple 🙂
The entrance fee is 600 yen (half price for elementary school students)
(Increased to 700 on April 1, 2024🥲)
You need to pay an additional ticket to enter the Phoenix Hall
Fortunately, there was sunshine when I went in☀️
