The world’s most impressive Basilica

When you are in Rome, why not also visit Vatican? St. Peter's Basilica is one of the most impressive building in the world, and truly the masterpiece of Renaissance architecture! It is designed principally by Michelangelo, Donato Bramante, Carlo Maderno and Gian Lorenzo Bernini and today boasts up to 20 million visitors annually!
It is free to visit but you often have to stand in the queue because of crowd control and security checks. You can either come early in the morning or join a tour to skip the queue. You can also pay to visit the dome (entrance fee depending on either climbing the staircase or taking the elevator) and admire the Basilica from high above the ground!
