Wenzhou's Most Beautiful Island, a Two-Day One-Night Healing Trip

Don’t want to squeeze into the mall this weekend? How about going to see the sea? In two days and one night, I went to Dongtou, Wenzhou, and found it truly deserves to be called the "Garden on the Sea."

If you had to choose, would you rather watch the sunrise in Dongtou or listen to the sea at night? 🌊

🏝️ Day 1: First Encounter with the Waves

📍 Jiucai’ao Beach
The first stop was one of Wenzhou’s most photogenic beaches—Jiucai’ao.
The golden sand stretches endlessly, soft and warm underfoot, with waves rolling in one after another, lapping at my ankles.

Sunlight sprinkled over the sea like scattered diamonds. Every snap felt like a postcard with blue and white tones. Standing on the fine soft sand, with waves rushing in repeatedly, at that moment, I felt like I didn’t want to think about anything, just wanted to stay with the sea a little longer.

I couldn’t help but zone out on the beach, listening to the sound of the waves, not wanting to leave at all.

📍 Sanpan Jizhao Island
In the afternoon, I took a taxi straight to Sanpan Jizhao Island. The seawater shimmered with layers of blue under the sun, and the island’s rocks were oddly shaped, like guardians of the sea. Walking on the wooden boardwalk, the sea breeze made me feel light and free.

Sanpan Jizhao Island is like a green gem hidden in the sea.
Standing high up, before me was an endless blue,
and the sea breeze opened up my heart.

The island offers especially photogenic sea views, with the distant horizon where sea meets sky—a vastness that heals the soul.

📍 Xiang Dongtou · Live Sea Stage Performance
The evening highlight—a live performance set on the sea stage. As night fell, the sea vessels of Xiang Dongtou were lit up,
lights reflecting on the water, the story unfolding amid the waves, as if the sea itself was telling a tale.

Lights on the vessels brightened, actors performed sea stories under the starry sky and sea breeze, with sound effects blending with the waves, giving me goosebumps.

After the show, I went to the sea balcony to feel the breeze; all around was silent except for the sound of waves hitting the boat. At that moment, I truly felt embraced by the sea.

🌅 Day 2: Meeting the Sea in the Morning Light

📍 Wanghailou
In the morning, I went straight to Wanghailou and was not disappointed.
From the high vantage point, the entire sea surface of Dongtou was bathed in the golden light of dawn, fishing boats slowly passing by, like a painting.

At that moment, time seemed to slow down; standing in the sea breeze, every breath felt refreshing.

A two-day one-night trip to Dongtou felt like a little date with the sea.

The day is bright blue, the night is gentle black, and the morning brings a touch of gold.
