Morning: Head to and visit Laseng Monastery
When you come to Wuhai, you must see this extraordinary Laseng Monastery. Its full name is Manba Laseng Monastery, which means "Medical Scripture Institute" in Tibetan. It is a national AAA-level scenic spot. Built in the 43rd year of Emperor Qianlong’s reign in the Qing Dynasty, it is constructed on the hillside of Tuhai Mountain. The architectural style blends Tibetan and Han characteristics, with red walls and golden roofs perfectly integrated with the mountain, resembling a small Potala Palace from afar. Inside the monastery, you can see the magnificent Mahavira Hall, Medicine Buddha Pagoda, and exquisite sculptures and murals.
🔥Noon: Check in at the beautiful hotel (Tianbao Hong Hotel)
Who says Inner Mongolia only has beef and mutton? There are also delicious home-style dishes!
Must-try recommendations
🤩Spicy Mao Xue Wang: The chili in this Mao Xue Wang is very fragrant but not too spicy. It has a numbing sensation and a rich flavor. The best part is that it feels comfortable in the stomach after eating, not burning or overly spicy. It contains: beef tripe, omasum, pork intestines, crab sticks (delicious, with fine strands), luncheon meat, cuttlefish balls, bean sprouts, vermicelli, duck blood, bok choy, and tofu skin. Super tasty!
🤩Colorful Old Yogurt: Wuhai is part of Inner Mongolia, so when you come here, you must try the local old yogurt. It’s sweet and sour, paired with fruit, very appetizing 🥰
🤩Liangyi Pancake: This is really amazing!! A huge pancake freshly baked with layers of crispy crust, very fragrant and satisfying to tear and eat.
🔥Afternoon: Take the cable car 🚡 to the top of Gandel Mountain ⛰️ to visit the Genghis Khan statue and museum
