One of the highlights of our Wuxi trip was wandering through the vibrant Nanchan Temple Pedestrian Street,a lively stretch packed with charming shops, traditional architecture, and an infectious buzz of energy. But the real magic began when we discovered it seamlessly connects to the legendary Southern Gate Food Street,a paradise for food lovers! With over 100 food and beverage stalls offering an incredible variety, we dove into Wuxi’s culinary delights, from sweet-and-savory xiao long bao* (soup dumplings) to crispy Wuxi pork ribs and fragrant *oil noodles.
The aromas, the sizzling woks, and the cheerful chatter of locals made every bite an experience. It was so good that we returned a second time during our trip, trying even more dishes we’d missed the first round. Whether snacking on street food or sipping local teas, this area perfectly captures Wuxi’s dynamic blend of history and flavor—a must-visit for any traveler!
