Two Days and One Night Foodie Trip in Wuzhou, Guangxi

⭐Bingquan Soy Milk Qilou City Branch: The soy milk has a faint burnt taste, slightly sweet even with less sugar. The fried dough sticks and egg balls are cold; the fried dough sticks have an oily smell, and the egg balls are a bit sweet according to friends. Recommend trying the rice rolls.
⭐Chang Ji Noodle Shop: A small shop with many people lining up. The rice noodles are very thin and smooth. The braised pig skin and dried bean curd soak up the soup well, and the braised pork is also very delicious.
⭐Super Exclusive Steak Rice Noodle Shop: A low-key small shop, one of the top ten gold medal rice noodles in the second Wuzhou Rice Noodle Festival. The soup is richer than Chang Ji’s, with a beef flavor. Chose steak + double combo pig skin (sour pig skin + braised pig skin). The steak is stewed beef ribs, very flavorful. The sour pig skin is sweet, sour, and crispy. There are many condiments to choose from; I like perilla and pickled radish.
⭐Guilao Herbal Tea: Checked in three times in two days, each time luckily able to sit indoors haha. Tried the turtle jelly latte with two options: osmanthus honey, which is refreshing, and coffee with three ways to enjoy—original, then with espresso, then with condensed milk—three different tastes. Luo Han Guo iced Americano is a magical combo with the sweetness of Luo Han Guo and the bitterness of espresso. Snow Jade Latte has a rice fragrance, very unique flavor.
⭐Xingxing Snails: The snail and duck feet pot comes with many side dishes. Friends think the stone snails taste better. The sour bamboo shoots are a bit spicy. Recommended snack is fried pig trotters; the pig skin soaks up the sauce and is soft and glutinous.
⭐Ma Huang Street Qing Ji BBQ: A very windy place, sweet-flavored BBQ, very large skewers. The grilled ribs are surprisingly good, beef is a bit overcooked, others are average. Need to order 3 hours in advance or add the boss on WeChat to order. The fruit salad at the shop opposite has lots of fruit and is very tasty.
⭐Liu Shan Restaurant: Very close to the hotel, 5 minutes walk, dishes have a 12% discount. Sitting by the window offers a river view. Ordered local specialties scallion oil fish, paper-wrapped chicken, and dim sum. The paper-wrapped chicken is a bit sweet, the meat is tender, recommended. The scallion oil fish has crispy skin and tender meat with the fragrance of scallion oil, also a bit sweet.
⭐Zhenmiao: Liubao milk tea has a strong tea flavor, chose less sugar which was just right, highly recommended!
⭐Yiyuan Beef Intestine Sour Soup: Recommended online, beef offal is okay, snails are a bit spicy. Others are average. The cold mixed cold noodles at the next shop are sour and sweet, very appetizing, very similar to Guangdong’s Chencun rice noodles.
⭐Tianyi Tea House: Right downstairs from the hotel, egg waffles are very delicious, crispy outside and tender inside, with a strong egg aroma, ate three times. Liubao lemon tea is also very good.

It was quite hot when I went, so I chose places with concentrated attractions, all within a 5-minute walk.
Wuzhou Museum — Former British Consulate — Baihe Tower
🍃Wuzhou Museum: A museum halfway up the hill, not many exhibits, covering artifacts from the Neolithic to modern times, and introducing Wuzhou’s history and culture.
🍃Former British Consulate: Yellow exterior walls are great for photos, surrounded by many green plants, with a European-style little angel fountain statue.
🍃Hegang Tower: Opposite the consulate, going up to the top floor observation deck offers a panoramic view of Hedong, also can see the Dragon Mother statue and Mingzhu Tower.
🍃Qilou City: A lively commercial street, very beautiful after the lights come on at night, with many photo spots.
