Before coming to Xi’an, I checked over 30 hotel reviews, and the Aman Eastern Courtyard I blindly chose ended up being legendary! Right outside the door is the Tang Paradise Night City, and the back door leads straight to Big Wild Goose Pagoda Park. After staying 4 days, I didn’t want to leave at all. This is a genuine experience for sisters heading to Xi’an to copy✅
🏮The location is unbeatable! A divine spot inside the scenic area
Choosing the right hotel is half the success of your trip! This courtyard hotel hidden in the heart of Qujiang has a location so good it feels unfair:
- 2 minutes on foot to Tang Paradise Night City; after watching the roly-poly doll show at night, no need to squeeze into the subway, just stroll back to your room
- 50 meters from the back door to Big Wild Goose Pagoda Park; in the early morning, you can enjoy the cedar forest alone and capture stunning photos of the pagoda’s shadow
- Only 200 meters from Big Wild Goose Pagoda Station on Metro Line 3; Shaanxi History Museum and Tang Paradise are both within 15 minutes
- Right next door is Joy City, offering a one-stop shop for shopping and dining, perfect for lazy travelers
The best part is the peacefulness amid the hustle and bustle! Outside is the noisy Night City, but once you enter the hotel gate, it’s instantly quiet. The courtyard is full of greenery like a natural oxygen bar, and this contrast is so healing.
🎋The Tang-style courtyard is breathtaking! Perfect for spontaneous Hanfu photoshoots
Stepping into the hotel feels like traveling back to the flourishing Tang Dynasty. The eaves carved from natural wood, ink wash screens, and pine and stone landscaping in the courtyard all exude elegance. Here are the key photo spots for you:
- Central courtyard on the first floor: lantern wall + moon gate; wear Hanfu and stand on the stone bridge for photos, every shot looks like an ancient-style portrait, perfect for social media
- Second-floor terrace: sit here in the evening to drink tea and see the eaves of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, with the sunset creating a full atmosphere
- Room windowsill: the garden-view rooms have floor-to-ceiling glass facing the cedar forest; morning sunlight filters through the branches, looking like a painting
No need to look for special photo shoot locations here; the hotel itself is a perfect backdrop, saving you hundreds on Hanfu photography fees!
🛏️Room types tested! These options are safe bets
This time I stayed in a garden-view bathtub king room and later helped my bestie upgrade to a terrace private hot spring room. Both were super impressive:
- Garden-view bathtub king room: 180-degree floor-to-ceiling glass facing the courtyard, smart curtains open to a sea of green. The 2-meter king bed is super comfortable, with just the right mattress firmness, making it hard to get up every day.
- Terrace private hot spring room: 96 square meters of spaciousness, the terrace soaking pool is the highlight! Soaking in the hot spring at night while stargazing and faintly hearing the music fountain from Big Wild Goose Pagoda is romantic to the core.
- Family suite: perfect for sisters traveling with kids! Spacious, with children’s toiletries, kids can play freely in the room while parents relax on the terrace, a perfect balance.
All rooms have smart controls; just say “Xiaodu Xiaodu” to open curtains or adjust lighting. Smart toilets and large-screen TVs are also fully equipped. Upon check-in, you get a welcome gift with Shaanxi’s signature Ice Peak soda, fresh fruit, and free snacks—such thoughtful details.
🍜Breakfast brings happiness! All local specialties included
As a foodie, the breakfast did not disappoint! The buffet from 7-10 am is super rich in variety, with these highlights:
- Local specialties: spicy pepper soup with a strong but not overwhelming flavor, crispy roujiamo (meat sandwich), paired with freshly ground soy milk, authentic Xi’an taste
- Chinese dim sum: steamed dumplings and shumai are freshly steamed, plus nourishing porridge that’s warm and comforting
- Western options: bread, bacon, fried eggs, and coffee to wake you up in the morning
The restaurant aunties are especially warm; they refill your cup proactively and even teach us how to mix the spicy pepper soup authentically, making you feel like family.
💁♀️Service warms your heart! Details show true care
The biggest surprise was the service, thoughtful from check-in to check-out:
- Front desk staff Xiao Yan stored our luggage for 3 days and proactively recommended off-the-beaten-path routes to avoid crowds
- Sisters traveling with pets have no worries! The hotel offers free pet care and even helps upgrade rooms, super pet-friendly
- Housekeeping cleans the room spotless every day, even wiping water stains on the washbasin until it shines
- When leaving, the manager gave us two super sweet peaches to eat on the road, instantly warming our hearts
📌Avoid pitfalls & Tips
1. Book in advance! Terrace rooms are especially popular during peak seasons and holidays; booking a week ahead is more cost-effective
2. Wear new Chinese-style or Hanfu outfits! They match the hotel style perfectly and double your photo success rate
3. Go early for breakfast! Around 8 am is less crowded, so you can enjoy your meal quietly
4. When going to Night City at night, don’t bring too much; returning to the hotel is super convenient, traveling light is more comfortable
Having stayed in many city hotels, this one truly gave me a “home” feeling. You can immerse yourself in the grandeur of the Tang Dynasty while enjoying modern hotel conveniences. Next time I come to Xi’an, I’ll definitely stay here again!
