The Liu-Deng Army Huai River Crossing Memorial Hall is located at No. 67, Zhuangtai Road, Xixian County, Xinyang City, Henan Province.
In December 1947, Liu Bocheng led the First Column to cross the river from Xixian County and head north. After a bloody battle, the Huaihai Liberated Area was established. In February 1948, Deng Xiaoping and Li Xiannian left the Dabie Mountains to meet with Liu Bocheng, leaving their footprints in Xixian County once again. The Liu-Deng Army helped the people of Xixian County to eliminate bandits and local despots, and establish local governments. The people of Xixian County enthusiastically supported the front until the peaceful liberation of Xixian County and the founding of the People's Republic of China. During the days of the Liu-Deng Army in Xixian County, they were disciplined, cared for the masses, and were widely supported and endorsed by the people. Stories of loving the people and supporting the army, such as "Three Don't Leave", "Vacate the Room and Make the Bed", "Ferry the Boat", "Boil Water and Cook", and "Take Care of the Wounded", are still widely circulated today.
