Hoh Xil,
means "green mountain ridge" or "beautiful girl" in Mongolian,
and "desolate land under the northern Kunlun Mountains" in Tibetan.
It is a forbidden zone for humans and a paradise for wild animals.

I downloaded the movie "Kekexili: Mountain Patrol" directed by Lu Chuan to watch on the plane before I left.
The movie says, "The story of Hoh Xil is hard to tell, only those who have really been there can understand."
The movie is based on the true story of Sonam Dargye.
This is heaven, hell, a pure land, and a place to witness life and faith.
The last primitive wilderness in China, this is the last habitat of Tibetan antelopes.
This is the wilderness, but not barren. Every alpine meadow interprets the power of life.

The original plan was to spend two days there,
but it was still early and the weather was good,
so I went straight to the Jade Pool of the Queen Mother of the West after returning to the Wuji Dragon and Phoenix Palace.
I was very lucky along the way,
from continuous rain to bright sunshine,
snow-capped mountains, jade pool, alpine meadows,
I saw Tibetan wild donkeys, Tibetan gazelles, Tibetan antelopes, wild yaks, and marmots. I didn't see the "egg yolk pie internet celebrity wolf" but took a photo with the "wolf friend" (see the picture later).
The local driver was familiar with the road conditions and drove well, and we left the reserve safely before dark.

Departure: near Golmud Railway Station

Travel preparation:
1️⃣ I ate rhodiola and oxygen supplements for half a month, and didn't take a shower or wash my hair the day before.
2️⃣ I prepared 2 bottles of oxygen (I felt a headache and head swelling when the altitude was over 4,500 meters, and I used up both bottles).
3️⃣ ID card (ID card security check is required to enter and leave the reserve).
4️⃣ Keep warm and protect yourself from the sun, wear a hat and a jacket.
Chartered car itinerary:
Golmud ➡️ Kunlun Holy Spring (with a water toilet) ➡️ Wuji Dragon and Phoenix Palace (there are two destinations here, Route A is Sonam Dargye Protection Station, Route B is the Jade Pool of the Queen Mother of the West).
Route A:
Yuzhu Peak Viewing Platform (it snowed on the night of September 9, and the snow was particularly shocking)
➡️ Kunlun Pass (altitude: 4,768 meters, the breathtaking beauty, there are two wolf-like dogs and a Samoyed outside the platform, which are said to have grown up with humans and dogs, and you can pet them and take photos with them for a fee)
➡️ Yuxu Peak Viewing Platform
➡️ Hoh Xil Sonam Dargye Protection Station (the driver said the protection station was under repair and could not be visited, so I returned at Kunlun Pass)
Route B:
➡️ Jade Pool Grassland (the most beautiful scenery is on the road)
➡️ Jade Pool of the Queen Mother of the West (not stunning, but it led me to the most beautiful no man's land)
