A once a lifetime trip! (Part 1)
A wonderful piece of creation in the Eastern part of China!
A heaven full of rich culture and breath taking scenery.
This is just a small part of Xinjiang trip! in May this year!
Day 1:
Arrived late way past midnight, so sleep in till late and had breakfast at 2pm! The beauty of Solo free and easy trip! You wake and eats at anytime you want! 😄
Explore and stroll around the neighbourhood and experience their open market! Best part to travel during Spring/Summer, you gain daylight time! 1st pic was taken at around 20:30!
Day 2:
Signed up for a 1 day trip to Turpan! 07:30 at meet up point and dropped off at 18:30. A day full of sunshine, sand, UVs 😏 and raisinsss… Went to the famous Flaming Mountain (Huo yan shan), temperature was 54 deg!!! 🥵 But as the tour guide shares, it is at zero altitude, won’t get any sunburn, not hot, won’t perspire (my goodness, not for someone from a tropical Asia country!) The Turpan people are the most happy when temp is over 40 deg, anything below that is cool to them, same goes for their crops - Grapes! It needs high and dry temp to thrives and grows well. The raisins there were superb! and soooo sweet! Loot back 3kg of raisins for the kids + 1kg grape seeds (good for folks with HBP)!
Day 3 onwards:
Start our 10 day private tour of Northern XJ. Part of the trip was to Hemu Village!
Another heaven place! How many Heaven are there on Earth? 🙊 Hike up the mountain and cross the rivers to our stay for the night in Hemu!
Stay tune for next part of my XJ trip…
