10:00 AM - Times Square Seoul: Where Modernity Meets Entertainment
Early in the morning, I took Subway Line 2 from downtown Seoul and arrived in Yeongdeungpo District in just 20 minutes. Times Square in Seoul is the first stop of this trip. This large shopping mall is not only a shopping paradise, but also a complex of entertainment and culture. As soon as I walked into the square, the scene in front of me stunned me! The hall was bustling with people, full of vitality and a lively atmosphere.
The design here is full of modern sense, with glass curtains and lights interweaving to create a futuristic space. In addition to numerous international brand stores, Times Square also has South Korea's largest IMAX theater and a variety of gourmet restaurants. I especially recommend the open-air cafe on the rooftop, from where you can overlook the entire Yeongdeungpo District and feel the prosperity and vitality of the city of Seoul.
Transportation: Yeongdeungpo Station Exit 5 on Subway Line 2
Opening hours: 10:30 - 22:00
1:00pm - Zoolung Zoolung: A magical journey with close encounters with animals
After lunch, I walked about 10 minutes to Zoolung Zoolung, an indoor zoo that focuses on interactive experiences. As soon as you enter the door, it feels like you have entered a fantasy forest world. All kinds of cute animals are jumping around in front of you, making you exclaim in surprise!
The feature here is that visitors can get close to animals, such as feeding raccoons, interacting with meerkats, and even touching tame lizards. In each area, there are professional staff to explain the habits and stories of the animals, making people feel the respect and love for life. Especially the children, their smiles and surprised expressions make the whole space full of warmth and joy.
Transportation: About 10 minutes walk from Times Square
Opening hours: 10:00 - 19:00
4:00pm - Yeongdeungpo Market: Experience the local lifestyle
After leaving Zoolung, I went to the nearby Yeongdeungpo Market. This is where the locals do their daily shopping, and it is filled with a strong atmosphere of life. The market is filled with stalls selling fresh fruits and vegetables, seafood, traditional snacks, and a wide variety of Korean specialty products.
I particularly like the street food here, such as the hot spicy stir-fried rice cakes, crispy pancakes, and the sweet but not greasy red bean cakes. You can feel the charm of traditional Korean cuisine in every bite. The vendors in the market greeted customers enthusiastically. Although we didn’t speak the same language, their smiles and gestures made people feel extremely warm.
Transportation: About 15 minutes walk from Zoolung
Opening hours: 08:00 - 20:00
6:00 PM - Han River Park: Romantic time under the sunset
My last stop was Han River Park, a great place for Seoul citizens to relax and unwind. In the evening, the setting sun shines on the river, the waves are sparkling, and the beauty is breathtaking. I rented a bicycle and rode along the river. The breeze on my face made me feel particularly relaxed.
There are also many couples and families in the park having picnics on the grass or sitting on the benches chatting. The whole atmosphere is relaxed and romantic. I found a quiet corner and watched the sunset quietly, feeling the tranquility and beauty of this busy city.
How to get there: Take subway line 5 from Yeongdeungpo Market to Yeouinaru Station
Opening hours: Open all day
This day's trip to Yeongdeungpo made me deeply appreciate the diversity of the city of Seoul. From modern shopping malls to a fantasy park where you can get close to animals, to a traditional market full of life, and finally ending with the beautiful sunset view of the Han River, each stop is unforgettable.
Yeongdeungpo is not only a paradise for shopping and entertainment, but also a place where people can slow down and enjoy life. If you come to Seoul, don't miss this charming area! 🌟
