Can you believe it? The location chosen by L and B for their events is Dingshu Town, a hidden gem in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai, known as the "Jingdezhen" at your doorstep!
·
It belongs to Yixing and enjoys the reputation of "Pottery Capital," yet it remains surprisingly low-key. It's only an hour's drive from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai, making it the perfect weekend getaway.
·
Here's a one-day itinerary:
First stop, Taierzhang. The UCCA Center for Contemporary Art, designed by Kengo Kuma, features a ceramic tile facade that changes color with the light, offering amazing photo opportunities. The exhibitions inside are fantastic, and the cultural and creative district has many unique shops.
·
Next, head to Shushan Ancient South Street, a historic street filled with Ming and Qing Dynasty architecture, exuding an ancient charm. As the birthplace of purple clay teapots, the street is home to numerous purple clay artists' studios. If you're lucky, you might even witness a master at work and pick up an authentic purple clay teapot.
·
Finally, visit Huanglongshan Mine Park. Take a stroll and learn about the history of purple clay mining. From the viewing platform, you can take in the breathtaking scenery and capture stunning photos.
·
Travel tips: Driving from the Changshen Expressway exit to Taierzhang is very convenient; you can also take the high-speed train to Yixing Station and then take a taxi. Don't miss out on the local delicacies: wumifan (black rice pudding) and Xushe small shortbread.
