Yogya Cuisine

Our very friendly hostel owner Budi made us a bunch of recommendation from the mushroom only restaurant to the charcoal coffee. And everything was unique and hit the psot for us. Bale Roas too was one of his recommendations. And what a distinct experience trying the local Yogyakarta cuisine.

While the slight sweetness in food, peculiar to Javanese cuisine existed in the dishes here. But I couldn't say that I have tried food like that before. Everything was delicious and different from the regular or touristy fare you run into trying food in Indonesia. The service was slightly confusing. They mixed up the drinks and forgot a dish.

But that's not a big deal. Food wise it was totally worth. We saw mostly locals visit it and it got full quickly. That's a good sign. So if you are in jogja and want to try something different or real that comes from the region. Go for this one.
