Yokohama|Enjoy roller coasters at night and stunning views from day to evening

Just a half-hour train ride from Tokyo, Yokohama is a city that you won’t want to leave once you visit. It’s also consistently ranked as one of the top cities where Japanese people wish to live.
The most beautiful area in Yokohama is Minato Mirai 21. This district was initially developed to address Tokyo’s limited space for expansion, with the idea of making it a residential city for Tokyo. Planning began in 1965, but since the area was originally an industrial zone and port, the complete transformation wasn’t visible until 2004.
Over 40 years of development turned Minato Mirai into a waterfront city that combines high-rise residences, commercial spaces, cultural venues, and tourist attractions.
Covering an area of 186 hectares and surrounding the bay, it’s bustling with commercial activities during the day but exudes a vacation-like atmosphere in the evening. Here are some recommended spots to enjoy the sunset and night views:
👍 Kishamichi Promenade: This pedestrian walkway connects Sakuragicho Station to the Red Brick Warehouse. Originally a railway bridge for freight trains, it now offers stunning night views.
👍 Bankoku Bridge: For the most comprehensive night view of Minato Mirai, Bankoku Bridge is the best spot. You can capture reflections of skyscrapers, the Ferris wheel, and the water surface.
👍 Yokohama Cosmo World: This amusement park is quite unique. Admission is free, and you pay for individual attractions. At night, you can take photos of the roller coaster with the night scenery as a backdrop.
👍 Yokohama Air Cabin: Japan’s first and most advanced urban circular cable car system. With 36 air-conditioned cabins operating continuously, it offers panoramic views of Minato Mirai from above.
