Walking into Nuanquan Ancient Town is like opening a door into time. The bluestone pavement gleams in the setting sun, and the gray-brick courtyards on either side exude a faint woody fragrance. Small bridges crisscross the streets, and the gurgling springs give the town its name and its spirit. Teahouses along the street emanate the melodious sounds of the Qin Dynasty, where elderly people sit and reminisce about the past, prompting travelers to slow down and listen to the echoes of time.
The ancient locust tree at the town's entrance still stands tall in the wind, its branches and leaves holding countless stories. At dusk, curls of smoke rise from the chimneys, setting against the red walls and black tiles like a splash-ink landscape painting. As night falls, lanterns illuminate the ancient streets, giving everything a warm and tranquil feel. As I depart, the sound of the springs still lingers in my ears, the town's most heartfelt tribute to the traveler.
