Fenglong Academy (1)

Fenglong Academy is located at the southern foot of Longshou Peak on Fenglong Mountain in Yuanshi County, Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province, hence the name.
Fenglong Academy was built in the early Tang Dynasty and flourished in the Song and Yuan Dynasties. It was the place where Li Gong of the Eastern Han Dynasty built a hut to teach. Li Xin, Zhang Zhu, Li Ye, and others successively served as the head of the academy and lectured here, nurturing many virtuous ministers, generals, and famous scholars such as Guo Zhen of the Tang Dynasty, Li Xin of the Song Dynasty, Shi Bin of the Yuan Dynasty, and Bai Pu. The story of Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai originated here. In the late Jin and early Yuan periods, it became a birthplace of world-leading mathematics and is one of the famous academies in Chinese history.

Transportation Information: Take bus No. 10 from Yuanshi County to the Art Center Station and walk to the destination; or take bus No. 19 or No. 29 to the South Entrance of Zhanqian Street Station and walk to the destination.

Special Cuisine: Old City Xiao Wuer Ganglu Shaobing, Yincun Donkey Meat, and Yuanshi Fried Cake are must-try delicacies when visiting Yuanshi.
