Finally got to ride the "Yufuin Forest" of my dreams!

Here's your guide to the train that feels like you've stepped into a Hayao Miyazaki animation! 👇

✅The all-wood retro carriages resemble a moving forest cabin, with oil painting-framed windows!
✅Limited access to the pudding cart and Yufuin bento. Reservations must be made online within 3 days to 1 month in advance.
🚂Service: JR Hakata Station ↔ Yufuin
Hakata-Yufuin runs two round trips daily.
Hakata-Beppu runs one round trip daily.

Trains 1, 3, and 5 run from Hakata to Yufuin, while trains 2, 4, and 6 run from Yufuin to Hakata. Trains 3 and 4 feature more retro carriages and run one round trip daily between Hakata and Beppu. Carriage 4 features forest-green seats and is a popular photo spot. Those wishing to check in need to book the fourth car of cars 3 and 4. Carriages 1, 2, 5, and 6 run twice daily between Hakata and Yufuin.

✅ Regular Reservation
👏 Steps: Visit the JR Kyushu website, select Hakata as your departure station and Yufuin as your arrival station to book your ticket. Specify the train name "Yufuin-no-Mori."

Yufuin-no-Mori is the Yufuin-no-Mori train; the others are regular trains.❗❗
Select Simplified Chinese, your departure and arrival stations, and your travel date and time (you can book up to a month in advance).

✅ JR Kyushu Rail Pass Reservation
1. After purchasing the JR Kyushu Rail Pass, you will receive an order and redemption code. Be sure to keep these.
2. To make an online reservation, you must first register with JR Kyushu. You can then use the redemption code to reserve a seat online at JR Kyushu. 3. Take your purchase receipt and exchange slip to the JR Kyushu counter to exchange for the JR PASS physical voucher and train ticket.
