This time I went with a tour group, but this attraction was particularly memorable. Take the electric car up Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, then gradually descend, and you'll be greeted by this magical landscape!

Blue Moon Valley is a scenic valley at the foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in Lijiang City, Yunnan Province. It gets its name from the magical blue color and crescent shape it displays on clear days. Melting water from the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain forms four lakes: Yuye, Jingtan, Blue Moon, and Tingtao, separated by small waterfalls. The waters are crystal clear, and despite the recent increase in tourists, conservation efforts remain robust.

The main lakes are Yuye Lake, Jingtan Lake, Blue Moon Lake, and Tingtao Lake. If anything, they resemble four tears beneath the sacred mountain, but they are truly breathtaking blue tears.

Recommended Visiting Times: Morning or evening are the best times to view the lake, as the sun is abundant and the lake's blue color is at its most beautiful.

Tickets and Transportation: Blue Moon Valley is included in your Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Scenic Area ticket.
From the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Scenic Area entrance, you can walk or take an electric car (separate ticket required) to reach Blue Moon Valley.

Note: Blue Moon Valley is approximately 2,950 meters above sea level, so please be mindful of altitude sickness. The lake water is not suitable for drinking due to the presence of copper ions.
