Emperor Daizong of the Tang Dynasty, Li Yu, named the Yuncheng Salt Lake "Baoying Lingqing Lake", ordered a temple to be built in the salt lake, conferred the name "Lingqing Gong" on the lake god, and included it in the national sacrificial rites. The temple was renovated and sacrificial ceremonies were held during the Ming and Qing dynasties.
