If you’ve seen the movie Avatar, you’ll recognize Zhangjiajie. Its misty, vertical sandstone peaks feel like they’re suspended in the air. I walked across the famous Glass Skywalk on Tianmen Mountain—it was both thrilling and terrifying. The Bailong Elevator gave incredible views from the cliffside. Hiking through this surreal landscape felt like being inside a fantasy world. The park is huge, so give yourself at least two days to explore. The surreal beauty of this place lingers long after you leave—it’s easily one of the most unique natural wonders in the world.
