Sleeping in the forest above the clouds in Zhangjiajie! This hotel is breathtakingly beautiful

Who would have thought! In Zhangjiajie, I discovered a magical hotel embraced by the forest. Opening the window reveals mountain peaks floating in a sea of clouds, and waking up to birdsong in the morning feels like stepping into a fairyland✨

The hotel is hidden deep within the Wulingyuan Scenic Area. Just after the car turned a corner, I was amazed—the white walls and black tiles of the buildings are nestled in a lush green valley. The glazed tiles on the roofs sparkle under the sunlight like a castle growing out of the mountains🏰 At check-in, they served chilled kudzu root juice, sweet with a hint of herbal fragrance, instantly dispelling the heat from the journey.

The rooms are a gentle trap of natural wood style! The extra-large floor-to-ceiling windows frame the entire mountain view like a dynamic wallpaper. Lying in bed, you can watch the mist wander among the peaks☁️ The bathtub faces a bamboo forest outside the window; soaking while listening to the rustling bamboo leaves in the breeze, accompanied by the room’s aroma (seems like local orchid grass scent), is so comfortable you won’t want to leave.

Be sure to visit the terrace restaurant at dusk! Order a dish called “Three Pot Stew” with rice wine, and watch the sunset dye the quartz sandstone golden red. In the distance, the cable cars move slowly like beads strung between the mountains🚡 The waiter said if you’re lucky, you might see macaques. Sure enough, halfway through the meal, two little ones squatted on the railing watching us. When I threw them a corn cake, they even caught it with both hands!

The hotel in the early morning feels softened by the mist~ Walking along the wooden plank path behind the mountain, dew soaked my canvas shoes, and the air was full of negative ions. Passing a small waterfall, I saw someone sketching; the peaks on the paper looked even more magical than the real view🖌️ On the way back, I found free ginger tea in the lobby. One sip warmed me all over.

Before leaving, I bought a can of local berry tea, with the hotel’s panoramic view printed on the packaging. Every time I brew it later and watch the tea leaves unfold in the cup, I remember that night embraced by the forest—the sound of insects outside the window mixed with the distant stream, like nature humming a lullaby🌙
