Zhengzhou People’s Park in spring is more than a floral spectacle—it’s a living painting. On my visit, the cherry blossoms were in full glory, but what truly captivated me were the hanfu-clad visitors who turned the park into an open-air studio. Flowing robes in pastel silks swirled beneath the pink boughs, as if stepping out of a Tang dynasty scroll.

I watched as photographers directed their subjects—a young woman twirling her wide sleeves, a child giggling as petals landed in her hair. One particularly striking scene: a lone figure in deep emerald hanfu standing by the lake, her reflection blending with the blossoms on the water’s surface. Nearby, a vendor rented out traditional costumes, and I couldn’t resist joining in. Draped in soft lavender silk, I felt an unexpected connection to the centuries of springtime admirers who had stood under these same fleeting blooms.
