Qijiang Bridge is the most famous bridge in the central urban area of ​​Zhongshan. It is named because it is located on the Qijiang River and is the first bridge on the Qijiang River.

The Qijiang Bridge, built in 1951, is the first bridge in Zhongshan. It has been opened and closed regularly since its completion to ensure shipping in Zhongshan. It is the only opening and closing iron bridge still in use in Guangdong Province.

It is said that many overseas Chinese come back to see the opening and closing of the Qijiang Bridge after many years abroad. After renovation in 2014, the bridge deck was changed to a two-way four-lane road, breaking through the traffic bottleneck between Fuhua Road and Sunwen West Road.

Qijiang Bridge is a witness to Zhongshan’s history. It has become the symbol of Zhongshan and even evolved into a trademark of Zhongshan products. It is the most famous bridge in Shiqi, Zhongshan. Now it has also become a tourist check-in point for many friends who come to Zhongshan.
