Garlic Spicy Chicken Soup is one of my must-eat dishes every time I visit Korea. I had heard about a place in Zhongshan offering this dish, and I finally had the chance to check it out.
I ordered their signature Garlic Spicy Chicken Soup 🐔 and the Cheese Potato Pancake 🥔.
The potato pancake was stuffed with a generous amount of cheese and served with syrup on the side. It was absolutely delicious! The syrup perfectly balanced the richness of the pancake and cheese, making it not greasy at all. The combination was surprisingly harmonious—definitely a must-try! I initially thought it might be a strange pairing 🤣.
As for the Garlic Spicy Chicken Soup, it was just slightly shy of the authentic Korean flavor, possibly because it didn’t have as much garlic as the Korean version. But overall, it was very close to the real deal. The pot was filled with plenty of tender chicken that wasn’t dry 🐔, along with potatoes and rice cakes. The potatoes soaked up the broth and were wonderfully soft 🥔, while the rice cakes, made from rice, had a soft and chewy texture.
If you love authentic Korean flavors (not the fake kind), you’ll definitely enjoy this place!
Most of the seating here is reserved for walk-ins. You can enter the restaurant to take a number and check your status on their website. When your turn is near, you can return to the restaurant. I waited about an hour this time.
