Shanghai picnic, Jiangnan town Zhujiajiao

The shops and attractions in Zhujiajiao are concentrated in the Fangsheng Bridge area. There are about twenty shops that mainly sell A-po Zongzi, or Chinese side dishes, but there is nothing special, so we walked around and just ate wontons and Zhuangyuan cakes.

There is a very famous Aliang Zhuangyuan Cake shop in Zhujiajiao. We saw many people eating it on the roadside and heard the aroma of the sesame cake. We couldn't help but buy one and were pleasantly surprised. 🍘Zhuangyuan Cake $8, there are three flavors: pork and scallion, preserved vegetable braised pork, sesame sweet cake. I ordered the traditional scallion and pork. The waiter used a large barrel oven. 🥰The bottom of the cake is as thin and crispy as a biscuit, sprinkled with sesame seeds☺️, salty, crispy, very delicious😋! Later I found out it was a knockoff, but it’s not bad 👍.
