Tengchong Cherry Blossom Valley is frost-free year-round and receives abundant rainfall, resulting in a profusion of wild cherry blossoms, earning its name. Over 200 rare plant species are found within the valley, including the alsophila spinulosa, a Class I protected plant that lived contemporaneously with the dinosaurs. Among the more than 100 nationally protected animals, the Yunnan snub-nosed monkey is a treasure. The valley boasts four forest hot springs, two of which have been developed: the "Wind Dew Pool" and the "Cloud Green Spring."
