Hainan Tropical Wildlife Park, also known as Dongshan Wildlife Park, is China's first large-scale tropical wildlife park and the only island-type tropical rainforest park in China. It is known as "a natural museum that concentrates the essence of Hainan Island's native flora and fauna". The park is located in Dongshan Town, Xiuying District, Haikou City, Hainan Province, about 27 kilometers away from the center of Haikou City. The theme is tropical wildlife expo and popular science. The landscape in the park is purely natural. The vast forest and dense plants create a good wild environment for animals; and the artificial jungle trails and various exotic flowers and plants make visitors feel like they are in the nature full of birdsong and flowers.

History: The park was established in the late 1990s as Hainan’s largest ecological zoo and tropical botanical reserve. In the Hainan Tropical Wildlife Park, half of the animals in the park can be viewed by visitors in their own private cars. For example, to view herbivorous animals such as giraffes, emus, ostriches, white buffaloes, sika deer, elephants, eld's deer, and ponies, we can park our car on the side of the road and buy carrots, sweet potatoes, bananas and other food from the staff to feed them and get close to them. When viewing carnivores such as lions and black bears, we drove the car to the lions to view them and take pictures of them as the electrified iron gates opened and closed. At the closest time, the front of our car was only one meter away from a group of lions lying under a tree to enjoy the cool air. It was really thrilling.

It's really tiring if you don't drive there by yourself.
