Haikou People's Park

海口人民公园

Haikou People's Park is the largest park in Haikou City. It is located in the city center and was built in 1954. It covers a total area of 440 mu and is a terraced hilly land. The park is divided into East and West Lake Scenic Area, Martyrs Memorial Area, Tropical Plant Specimen Area, Quiet Rest Area, Orchid Garden, Animal Area and Living Area according to functional areas. Looking down at Haikou from the air, the park is like a verdant Penglai floating in the sea of buildings. The Hainan Liberation Monument is located at the main entrance of the park, standing on Daying Mountain. It was built in 1954 to commemorate the martyrs who have long persisted in the Qiongdao Revolution and fought across the sea and died heroically. There are a statue of General Feng Baiju and a memorial pavilion for Feng Baiju in the park. The "Statue of General Feng Baiju" is carved on the highest peak of the five peaks built of thirteen pieces of granite. It looks solemn, resolute and lifelike. The front of the statue base is engraved with five golden characters "General Feng Baiju" written by Deng Xiaoping. The five peaks symbolize Wuzhi Mountain, Qiongya, and the leading core of the Qiongya Party organization. Feng Baiju is the leader of this core and the pillar of Qiongya. The memorial pavilion consists of three pavilions and a long corridor, and the layout is naturally integrated with the statue. The monument, the statue, and the pavilion echo each other, adding a solemn and majestic landscape to the park. In front of the main entrance of the park are East Lake and West Lake, like a pair of beautiful eyes in Haikou city. The lakeside is surrounded by coconut trees, the willows are green and dripping, the green shade covers the sun, and it is cool and quiet. East Lake is oval. There is an island in the middle of the lake. The pavilions on the island are magnificent. The nine-curve bridge connects the park gate. West Lake is short-necked gourd-shaped, with a wide water surface. Whenever the bright moon is in the sky, the coconut wind is flowing, the silver scales of East and West Lakes are shining, and the towering green of Daying Mountain is set off. The lake and mountains, the shadows of coconut trees, and the boating are refreshing. There is also a zoo in the park, which is home to tropical and subtropical animals, and a new aquarium. The park has a total green area of 258 mu, with lush trees and flowers. There are more than 1,000 species of tropical and subtropical plants from 167 families, more than 50,000 large and small trees and shrubs. The green area accounts for 87.2% of the park's land area, which can be called a tropical botanical garden. In recent years, a new playground has been built in the park, which usually attracts many adults and children. During festivals, various exhibitions and recreational activities turn the park into a hot spot for entertainment.

People's Park, in Haikou locals still prefer to call it: East Lake. It was called: East Lake in the past, but now it has become a larger place for citizens' leisure activities with East Lake as the center and the slope next to it. There is the Feng Baiju Memorial Tower, and it is also Haikou's second-hand market, where you can go shopping on Taobao, and there are also Hainan-specific lottery activities, which many elderly people play.

Haikou is full of spring flowers in April. Coming from the north, I feel like it is midsummer. I like the climate here, the small scenery in the park, the flowers, plants and trees here. At this time, the leaves in the north have not yet sprouted.

It is an amusement park, not much different from other amusement parks, with mostly exciting games. My favorites are eating milkfish, taking a boat ride and whitewater rafting, all of which are quite fun.

By Full of money |

It is relatively close to the Qilou Old Street and the Snack City, where you can take a break after eating or shopping.

A half-day tour of Haikou during a layover, walk from the Qilou Snack Street, take a bus, and check in outside the People's Park.

The greenery is very good. Citizens on the square share their time, dancing, exercising, playing chess, walking their kids and dogs, and lead a peaceful and stable life. It is a good place for leisure.

There should be a monument in the center, but there are so many dense trees that I can't see it.

People's Park is the oldest public park in Haikou. The East and West Lakes in the park are beautiful, surrounded by coconut trees, and the pavilions on the island in the middle of the lake are magnificent. There is also a zoo in the park where you can see some tropical and subtropical animals. There is also a new playground in the park, which attracts a large number of children.

Haikou People's Park is divided into functional areas including East and West Lake Sightseeing Area, Martyrs Memorial Area, Tropical Plant Specimen Area, Quiet Rest Area, Orchid Garden, Animal Area and Living Area.

The Hainan Liberation Monument is located at the main entrance of the park, standing on Daying Mountain. It was built in 1954 to commemorate the martyrs who bravely sacrificed their lives in the long-term Qiongdao Revolution and the cross-sea battles. There is also a statue of General Feng Baiju and a memorial pavilion for Feng Baiju in the park. General Feng Baiju was the leading core of the Qiongya Party organization.

It is located in a busy area, so everyone will go there! The East Lake and West Lake are relatively small, with tall and straight coconut trees and a hero monument. However, the park is more like a place for citizens to take a walk after dinner.

Good greenery, quiet, with fitness equipment, quiet in a bustling area.

People's Park is actually an open green space in the center of Haikou.

This is the earliest park in Haikou, and the city center of old Haikou is here. Now it is densely populated with new and old buildings, shopping malls, hotels, banks, and schools.

The International Metropolis is just across the street from the park and is surrounded by the International Central Business District.

Not far from here is another city commercial center - Pearl Square. This photo was taken on the pedestrian bridge of Pearl Square. On the right is People's Park. If you walk a little further along the antique shop on the left, you can see Longquan Hotel.

The park is quite large and should be a good place for Haikou citizens to relax and have fun.

Walking in, I saw a large square.

There is also a clear and beautiful lake next to it, with nice scenery.

I passed by on my way to Wanghai International for shopping. It was full of vegetation, nice, a natural oxygen bar, quiet and leisurely. It should be loved by nearby residents.

Haikou People's Park, this may be the park with the largest green area in Haikou. I got lost when I walked in.

Haikou People's Park is a free city park in Haikou. It is a good place for citizens to relax and exercise. There are many trees in it, which are very dense and have a good environment. The East Lake and West Lake in the park are very small, and there are musical fountains at night. There is also a hero monument! However, the park is more like a place for citizens to take a walk after dinner. It is located in a bustling area, close to Wangjing, and there is a square nearby. In summer, this is a good place to cool off. To the north is the famous Xinhua South Qingliangbu, don't miss it when you come to play.

Located in the center of Haikou City, it provides a place for citizens to relax and have fun.

It feels very ordinary... It's full of people dancing in the square... Not suitable for shopping...

People's Park is a place for citizens to relax and have fun. There are old people writing water characters, people dancing and singing. Every city has such an open and free park.

By House |

Many local elderly people like to cool off here. It’s a fairly large park and quite cool, haha.

By Solitary Bee |

People's Park is a standard feature of many cities. It is basically located in the traditional urban area. It is a good place for citizens to have fun on weekends, with children chasing and playing, and the elderly dancing and singing. Haikou People's Park is no exception.

There is a hillside in the park that is neither too big nor too small, which makes it rich in layers and well-proportioned. The flower beds during festivals are arranged in a strong atmosphere. The monument to revolutionary martyrs and the memorial statue of General Feng Baiju well explain the meaning of "people".

Dense trees, fresh air, a place for leisure and rest

By Dora Rice Cake |

Haikou People's Park in the city center is similar to a street park. I took a few photos here and the scenery is nice.

By Scorpio |

The park in the center of Haikou is quite large, connecting several important roads such as Haixiu Road, Datong Road and Haifu Road. There is a Dongxi Lake inside.

By Ah, biscuits |

There were many people dancing in Haikou People's Park at night, music was playing everywhere, and people playing lottery on the roadside were everywhere.

By Tiger's Master |

This scenic spot is a place for citizens to relax and exercise. Since two of the eight scenic spots in Haikou are in the park, I still went for a walk, which is better than nothing.
