Wuzhi Mountain was originally in my plan. I wanted to climb the second peak, but the weather was not sunny and it was drizzling from time to time. I could only stop and tour the foot of the mountain. The rainforest has its own characteristics. It is very humid before I reach the top of the mountain. The hotel owner repeatedly reminded me to try not to climb on rainy days because there will be leeches on rainy days, and I should wait until the weather is sunny to climb. Alas, I could only leave with regret.
Wuzhishan City is located in the hinterland of the south-central part of Hainan Island, surrounded by mountains and dense forests. It is really surrounded by mountains. From Haikou to Wuzhishan City, you need to climb mountains and walk on winding mountain roads. If I hadn't been strong-willed, I might have vomited long ago.
It is said that the Wuzhishan area is warm in winter and cool in summer, and is not affected by cold waves or typhoons. The unique climatic conditions make Wuzhishan rich in biological species.
Mysterious and interesting, it is not highly developed, but the different heights of the mountain have different scenery, which is very attractive!
Wuzhi Mountain is the highest mountain in Hainan Island. It is located in the central part of Hainan Island and is named after its undulating peaks that resemble five fingers. Wuzhi Mountain is the symbol of Hainan Island and one of China's famous mountains. It is listed as an A-level tourist attraction by the World Tourism Organization. Wuzhi Mountain is the symbol of Hainan Island and was once the base of the Chinese Red Army in Hainan.
The scenery is very beautiful and original, and Shuiman Township is particularly beautiful.
People who like climbing and insects can go to the rainforest, where there are many insects.
The highest mountain on Hainan Island is dotted with tropical rainforests. Everyone who travels to Hainan Island will see it from afar or visit it in person.
Wuzhi Mountain, we went there on September 3rd, the ticket was 50 yuan, it started to rain when we entered the park, and it stopped when we left the park! Crazy, because it was next month, I didn't dare to climb the mountain, I just walked along the plank road along the river, it was pretty good, although it was raining, it was worth going! I just think the facilities in the park are too poor! It seems that no one maintains and manages it, the scenery is good, but the management is not good!
I have climbed many mountains and visited some tourist destinations that have preserved their original forests, but due to human activities, most of them have lost their original state. Wuzhi Mountain is very precious because it is high and has dangerous roads and few human activities. It can preserve the natural form of the tropical rainforest.
You need to pay for admission to climb the mountain and view the panoramic view of Wuzhi Mountain, but you can get free admission by showing your card if you stay at the hotel.
The locals are really nice. I didn't buy any water to bring up the mountain, and there was no water for sale on the mountain. Two brothers in charge of environmental sanitation at Wuzhi Mountain gave me a bottle. I said I'll pay you for it, but they refused, saying they were here to serve you!!! I want to give Wuzhi Mountain two hundred!!! You must leave plenty of time when you go to Wuzhi Mountain, and you must experience the tree root plank road and iron ladder at the back, which are super cool!!!
Because we were pressed for time... We went to climb the mountain on a rainy day. It kept raining when we reached the second peak. The way down was so slippery. My friend waited for me at the foot of the mountain for an hour before I came down.
Wuzhishan City is located in the hinterland of the south-central part of Hainan Island. It is the central city and transportation hub of the central region of Hainan Island. The urban area is 328.5 meters above sea level, making it the highest mountain city in Hainan Island. Wuzhishan is surrounded by mountains and dense forests, and is known as the "Emerald Mountain City". The Wuzhishan area is warm in winter and cool in summer, and is not affected by cold waves or typhoons. Due to the unique climatic conditions, Wuzhishan has a wide variety of biological species and the vegetation distribution is a tropical natural landscape. It is known as a "natural villa" because of its beautiful mountains and clear waters and spring-like weather all year round.
Wuzhi Mountain is located in Shuiman Township, Wuzhishan City. It is the first mountain range in Hainan and the symbol of Hainan Province. The highest peak is Erfeng, with an altitude of 1,867 meters, which is more than 300 meters higher than Mount Tai, the first of the Five Sacred Mountains. The bus from Wuzhishan City to Shuiman Township usually runs every half an hour, and the bus departs at a fixed time. You can take the bus outside the bus station. It takes about an hour and ten minutes to get to Shuiman Township. After arriving, take a local bus and it costs 15 yuan to the entrance of the scenic area. You can choose Wuzhishan City or Shuiman Township for accommodation, but there are not many accommodations in Shuiman Township. There are two hotels and two or three hostels, and they are expensive. The cheapest hotel is 80, and the hotels are all over 100. The ticket for Wuzhi Mountain is 50. If the staff is not at work before 7:30, you don’t need to buy a ticket, or you can ask the driver to buy a ticket, which is generally much cheaper. In addition, Wuzhishan Yatai Hotel is located in the scenic area. It is a five-star hotel with a shuttle bus to Shuiman Township. If you stay there, you can send tickets. It is at the foot of the mountain. There is more than one entrance to the Wuzhi Mountain. There are two routes. One is to go down and find the source of the Changhua River, that is, to the bottom of the waterfall. The other is to climb to the first and second peaks of Wuzhi Mountain. At the beginning, there is a plank road, which is about 2,700 meters long and takes one to two hours to walk. There is a mountain road of more than 1,700 meters from the end of the plank road to the top of the peak. It is mainly a tree root road, and there are about ten vertical iron ladders. The road is not particularly difficult to walk, but it requires courage and carefulness. It takes about two hours to reach the top of the first peak. The distance from the first peak to the second peak is about 340 meters. First go down, walk to a pass, where there is a sky bridge, and then climb up. It takes about 20 minutes to reach the second peak, which is the highest peak. Whether it is the first peak or the second peak, there is no viewing platform on the top of the mountain. The space is relatively small and surrounded by plants. It is recommended to find a companion. Even if you are alone, it is best to have a companion on the road, especially girls, because if you don’t have a companion, it is difficult to have the courage to climb to the top. This is a personal experience. In fact, there are plants all along the way in Wuzhi Mountain, and you can't see any scenery. Even if you reach the top of the mountain, if there is no fog, you can still see the endless mountains and sea of clouds. If there is fog, you can't see anything. There are signposts along the Wuzhi Mountain hiking trail. There is a signpost almost every 50 meters, and the road is stepped out, there will be no forks, so you won't get lost, don't worry. At the pass from the first peak to the second peak, where there is a sky bridge, you have to go to the left hand direction. It usually takes four to five hours to climb the mountain and three to four hours to go down the mountain, so you can manage your time well. After going down the mountain, go back to the entrance of the scenic area and wait for the car to go back to Shuiman Township. Generally, there will be no cars, so when you take the car from Shuiman Township in the morning, you must write down the driver's phone number. If you can't find a car when you go back, call someone to pick you up, which is also 15 yuan.
Wuzhi Mountain, one of the three largest tropical rainforests in the world and the highest peak of Hainan Island (1,867 meters above sea level), is located in the Wuzhi Mountain Reserve Tourist Area (the part of the Wuzhi Mountain National Nature Reserve open to the public). Please note that when climbing Wuzhi Mountain, you must distinguish between "climbing" and "viewing the mountain". Going to the "Wuzhi Mountain Tropical Rainforest Scenic Area" can only view Wuzhi Mountain from a distance. Climbing and viewing the mountain are not the same scenic area). You can climb Wuzhi Mountain by bus if you live in Shuiman, or you can take a minibus to Shuiman Township on the side of March 3rd Street in Wuzhishan City (there is a bus to Shuiman Township every 20 minutes from 6:30 am in the city). After getting off the bus, you can take a Fengcai bus or walk 3.5km to the gate of the scenic area to buy tickets (peak season 10-4: 50 yuan/person, off-season 5-9 42 yuan/person, this scenic spot cannot be found on the Internet) and then enter the scenic area. It is recommended to directly choose the summit route for climbing, and browse the route to the source of Changhua River after having enough time to go down the mountain.
From the ticket office of the scenic area, it is ten minutes along the road to Wuzhi Mountain Village. From here, the distance to the summit is 4km: Wuzhi Mountain Village - climbing starting point 0.6km, stone plank road 638 meters, wooden plank road 1180 meters. There is a closed iron gate on the wooden plank road at an altitude of 1250 meters. Go over the iron gate and walk along the ancient tree root road for 1.7km to the summit. There are 20 iron plates numbered 12-31 along the way showing the distance and altitude from the starting point and the destination for reference (the marked distance should be the horizontal distance, which is much longer than the actual distance and the road is very steep and it takes about 6-7 hours to go up and down the mountain).
Wuzhi Mountain has a typical tropical rainforest climate, with an average annual temperature of 20 degrees Celsius, no severe cold in winter and no scorching heat in summer. It is known as the "Emerald City", "Natural Air Conditioner" and "Natural Oxygen Bar". Not to mention the scenery, the air is really excellent.
We decided to take a bus to Wuzhishan (the bus from Lingshui to Wuzhishan does not go directly to the scenic spot, but to Wuzhishan City). The scenery and road conditions along the way are very good, especially the closer we get to Wuzhishan City, the better the planning and management.
Wuzhishan gives me a particularly good feeling. It is clean, tidy, and the people are friendly. It is a good place to live.
As soon as I got off the bus, a bus bound for Shuiman Township started slowly across the road. We were not asked to pay extra money for carrying large or small bags, and the passengers were all so friendly and peaceful.
The time is 3pm and we should reach the second peak, our camping location, before dark.
The wooden plank road was easy to walk on, but I felt it was too stable and not satisfying. The tree root road made me feel tired. The higher I climbed, the thicker the fog became. The light was sometimes bright and sometimes dim because of the lush trees. The damp cold air came from time to time, and it was very cold.
The first peak was not very noticeable, the second peak looked a bit steeper, and the forest was denser. Finally, I made it up!
The top of the peak is a slightly inclined plane, which can accommodate about four tents. The white mist is diffused, and the exposed skin can clearly feel the water-like particles. Because of the mist, the sight is not possible.
Tropical rainforest, five fingers high view, tree-lined avenue towards the sky
The scenery is beautiful and the air is fresh, but the management of the scenic area is not perfect, and there is a lot of garbage on the top of the mountain, which damages its image. We should strengthen management and strive to create a tourism and mountaineering culture at the top of Hainan.
The road up the mountain is quite slippery and there are few people climbing the mountain. Most people just walk around at the foot of the mountain.
From before dinner to after dinner, the rain had stopped and started several times. The weather in the mountains is really unpredictable, sometimes cloudy and sometimes sunny.
The road to the main peak is 4 kilometers in total. The lower 2.3 kilometers have wide steps and wooden plank roads, which are easy to walk; the last 1.7 kilometers are the original trails, of which the approximately 1 kilometer near the top of the mountain is even more difficult to walk. The entire road is along the watershed ridge of the mountain, and the plank road passes through the forest, becoming steeper as it goes up. The 1.7-kilometer original trail was made by herbalists on the ridge covered with tangled tree roots in the past. The roots of each section were used as footrests, and in steep places, people had to hold on to the roots with their hands to climb. The last 1,000 meters of the trail is very steep, and you have to climb with your hands and feet, and you have to climb several almost vertical iron ladders. Young children and frail elderly people are definitely not suitable for climbing Wuzhi Mountain, unless they only walk on the wooden plank road.
Wuzhi Mountain is called Wuzhi because of its five peaks. The first peak is a narrow ridge like a knife's back, with only a few dead trees, and under the trees is a foggy and unfathomable cliff. From the first peak, you need to climb the trail for about 20 minutes to reach the top of the second peak. The second peak is the highest peak of Wuzhi Mountain, with an altitude of 1,867 meters. There is a small bare rock open space on the top of the second peak, and a sign is erected on the open space. There are only grass and low shrubs around the open space, and no big trees. When I arrived at the top of the second peak, I saw two people. It turned out that I was not the first person to reach the summit that day.
Although the sun was shining on the top of the mountain, we couldn't see the surrounding mountains because we were above the clouds, and the clouds and fog covered everything below. It seemed that it might be better to climb the mountain later. At about 12 o'clock, the clouds opened up and I could see the sea of clouds. At about 1 o'clock, the wind was blowing and the clouds were rolling, occasionally revealing peaks 1, 3, 4, and 5. We reached the bottom of the mountain at 3 o'clock in the afternoon, which took a total of 7 hours.
In fact, the fun of mountaineering lies in the process, in the complacency of conquering the highest peak in Hainan. At the top of the peak, I was still troubled by the fog. Later, when I sorted out the photos, I found that a photo of thick fog that I took accidentally had a strange beauty. Unfortunately, I didn't realize it at the time and didn't pay attention to the beauty created by the clouds and fog. Wuzhishan Park has planned four routes, A, B, C, and D. In fact, only A climbing and C valley can be considered routes, and the other two are very short. At the fork at the bottom of the mountain, one side goes up the mountain and the other side goes along the stream at the bottom of the ditch. As soon as I saw the direction, I was sure that the so-called C line must be upstream and close to the waterfall I saw. It took about 20 minutes to walk in from the fork to the end. A piece of rock, water overflows from the rock, is it also called a waterfall? There are small words next to it: the source of Changhua River.
I found an inconspicuous path next to the stone wall at the source of the Changhua River. There was a "No Visitors Allowed" sign blocking it. It should lead to the big waterfall I mentioned.
It is said that Wuzhi Mountain got its name because of the strong erosion and cutting by natural factors for a long time. The peaks rise and fall one after another, and the shape resembles five fingers. As the highest peak on the island, there is also a saying that "If you have not been to Wuzhi Mountain, you have not been to Hainan." Because of the warm and humid climate, the plants in the mountain are mainly tropical and subtropical.
Wuzhi Mountain is not like most domestic scenic spots, which are crowded with people. You can sit quietly by the stream and watch the clear mountain stream take away the fallen leaves.
My first impression of Wuzhi Mountain was that the forest was very dense, almost blocking out the sun. The oxygen content was also very sufficient, and I breathed in deep gulps. It felt so good!
After enjoying lunch, the four of us continued to head towards the second peak of Wuzhi Mountain. The second peak of Wuzhi Mountain is also the highest peak of Wuzhi Mountain. The mountainsides between the first and second peaks are shrouded in clouds and mist, like a fairyland.
Wuzhi Mountain: The sun is exceptionally bright, but don’t worry, because it’s hard to see the sky under the towering trees in the rain forest. There are only 4 or 5 places on the way halfway up the mountain where you can see the sky and the scenery below the mountain.
Wuzhi Mountain is a very magical place. After walking a few hundred meters, there is no comfortable stone road. Behind it are all roads made by villagers who are dissatisfied with tree roots. These tree roots seem to be troublesome on the road, but in fact they are of great help. The road is very steep, and many people have to step on and hold on to such tree roots to move forward. In the primitive tropical rainforest, you must keep it primitive to the end...
Looking up at the mountain from the location of the Wuzhishan District Office, the entire mountain looks like a huge pyramid, and the top looks like a bird's beak with a sharp beak. However, when you climb up, you will see a large piece of rock with an area of nearly 10 square meters.
Wuzhi Mountain: You don’t know how spectacular the real scene is. It’s perfect. If you have the opportunity to camp on the mountain, I like to see the beautiful scenery of the sun in the morning.
It took us about four hours to reach the second peak of Wuzhi Mountain. I don’t know if it’s the middle finger or the ring finger. The scenery on the mountain is really beyond words.
Wuzhi Mountain is indeed not high, but without being developed, it is very easy for people without experience in outdoor travel to get lost because there are large tracts of areca palms, coconut trees, and many other unknown plants everywhere.
On the street, you will see a group of dark-skinned Li women singing loudly, and then they open their mouths wide to show their white teeth and laugh without hesitation. This is Wuzhishan City - simple, warm, kind and sincere. The original name of Wuzhishan City is Tongshi. People in the mainland will easily read the word "Shi" as "Shi" in "Shijin", so people in Tongshi will proudly tell you that this word should be read as "Za".
Tongshi, a beautiful name, represents a kind of ethnic customs. But later it was changed to Wuzhishan City, confused with Wuzhishan. The reason for the name change is very simple, just like the name change of Tunxi, Anhui to "Huangshan". Very helpless...
I didn't stay in the city of Wuzhishan, but in a hotel at the foot of the main peak of Wuzhishan. There was a mountaineering trail next to the hotel, but the hotel staff repeatedly advised me not to climb alone for safety reasons. With great regret, I wandered around the main peak for a few days, but finally gave up.
Wuzhi Mountain rafting is really exciting. When the water volume is large, there will be a small waterfall with a drop of 8 meters, which is very exciting.
When I went there, the wooden plank road was under repair, but it is probably finished now. In a nutshell: you need a cane to go to Mount Tai, and you need to use both your hands and feet to go to Wuzhi Mountain.
Wuzhi Mountain is very beautiful and should be much more fun than Yanoda. You can also see leeches in winter, which is not bad.
The sound of water was very loud, and the valley was completely like a tropical rain forest, with dense vegetation of many kinds, towering into the sky, and winding branches and vines.
Wuzhi Mountain is not very developed, and it is still a relatively primitive rainforest with few people and very good air. You can see the most primitive rainforest scene here.
It is best to drive to Wuzhi Mountain by yourself. It is actually very inconvenient and unsafe to join a tour group. The road conditions to Wuzhi Mountain are not very good, and it is really far away.
I rode past it. Since I came from the mountains, I am not very interested in mountains. Besides, riding is very tiring.
There are two peaks in Wuzhi Mountain, and I challenged one of them. Before climbing the mountain, I was extremely worried that there would be leeches on the mountain. I jogged all the way up the mountain from the bottom, but I didn't see any leeches later. The mountain is relatively primitive. The higher you climb, the steeper it becomes, almost vertical. Many pine trees can be seen on the cliffs near the top of the mountain. There is a small flat land on the top of the mountain. Standing on the top of the mountain and surrounded by the fairy clouds, you can see a sense of pride. Although I am exhausted, I feel proud~
