Daocheng County

Daocheng County spans 27°58'～29°30' north latitude and 99°56'～100°36' east longitude, is 174 kilometers long from north to south and 63 kilometers wide from east to west. It borders Jiulong County to the east, Xiangcheng County to the west, Litang County to the north, Muli Tibetan Autonomous County to the south, and Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Yunnan to the southwest.

Daocheng County is located on the southwestern edge of Sichuan Province, China, in the southern part of Garze Prefecture. It lies in the southeastern part of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, east of the Hengduan Mountains. It belongs to Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in the Kham Tibetan Autonomous Region.

The commercialization is very good, and there are many travel photos in high-altitude cities.

Rent an electric donkey, go around the area, go horseback riding, soak in hot springs in the afternoon, and have a drink in a tavern in the evening. It's a super comfortable place.

It wasn't until daytime that I realized Daocheng's environment was incredibly good. Perhaps because it's a tourist destination, everyone pays special attention to hygiene. There's no trash on the streets, the streets are smooth and clean, and the houses are newly built and beautiful. It seems the pace of life in Daocheng is very slow. Aside from a few students carrying backpacks, I didn't see anyone else along the way, and most of the shops were still closed.

Daocheng is the most beautiful place in my opinion. It is worthy of being the most beautiful county in China. If you go there earlier, thousands of acres of green forests will embellish the entire county, and the scenery is indeed beautiful.

Daocheng County is not very big. We took a walk inside when we passed by. The wide Yingbin Avenue was very clean. The development of tourism has made it full of hotels, restaurants, and special commercial centers. At this time, Daocheng County is crowded with people, most of whom are tourists wearing colorful jackets. I wonder what it will be like after October.

Small Daocheng County, a tourist stopover, is also bustling at night. The musical fountain is open all night, and you can also go to the adjacent square to experience local square dancing.

China's most beautiful county town, very prosperous. Looking forward to visiting Aden. Altitude sickness is already hopeless.

I took a quick look around! The roads were clean and tidy, the county town was relatively prosperous, and the buildings were relatively new. Many people stopped here or stayed overnight.

Daocheng is a rare and beautiful county. Near the county, there are the White Pagoda, Populus euphratica forest and Red Grass Beach, which are all worth seeing.

Entering Daocheng, the landscape is littered with rocks of varying sizes, dotted with riverbanks and mountain streams. The landscape is filled with a sense of desolation and desolation, as if transported back to the Ice Age. Daocheng's beauty perfectly complements its name: the quaint Tibetan dwellings, the gently flowing river, and the lush, upright poplar trees create a vibrant, timeless watercolor painting. Daocheng left a deep impression on me because of its beautiful starry sky. I was moved to tears three times: once on the snow-capped mountains, once when I saw the rainbow, and once when I saw this sea of stars.

The starry sky on the plateau is absolutely stunning. My hometown is deep in the Dabie Mountains, where the ecology is pollution-free and beautiful. On clear nights, the sky is filled with stars. I grew up looking at the starry sky. But the starry sky on the plateau is different. The stars look very big and bright to the naked eye. The starry sky feels very close, and you can touch the stars with your hand. In places with good views, it feels like the stars are about to fall. Standing there and looking up is very romantic. If there are any views worth appreciating in your life, I definitely recommend the starry sky on the plateau.

My friends in car 3 sang "The Brightest Star in the Night Sky" and "Ordinary Road" together under the starry sky, shaking their mobile phone flashlights. It was also very touching.



The starry sky is even more beautiful when captured by camera. The Milky Way captured by camera has colors that cannot be distinguished by naked eyes. No post-processing is required.

We arrived at the entrance to the Yading Scenic Area. It was a 5-minute walk to the ticket office. The entrance fee was 150 yuan, and the sightseeing bus was 120 yuan... our final destination. (Both the ticket and the bus ticket are valid for 3 days.)

Daocheng County

In fact, Daocheng County is a transit station in the Daocheng Yading Scenic Area. Most people regard it as the best place to stay. Here, there are many choices of homestays, inns, guesthouses, and hotels of different styles. There are also many youth hostels with excellent characteristics. Friends from different places gather here, telling their own journeys and sharing their travel experiences on the road. Therefore, Daocheng County is very worth a visit.

We went to the mountains around the county town. The scenery on the top of the mountain is nice. It usually takes two hours to reach the top. The view around is very good. The villages surrounded by the mountains are very ethnic. When we came to a muddy area, we couldn't walk anymore. Fortunately, we met a Tibetan family digging the soil. However, only the children knew Chinese. We chatted with them in a squeaky voice and took a ride on a tractor. There is a small river running through the surrounding area, and there are many small woods next to it. From a distance, I just wonder if it will be more beautiful if we go there in autumn.

Daocheng County is hailed as China's most beautiful county, and it truly lives up to its reputation. Upon arriving, I was struck by the sheer beauty of the county, surrounded by poplar trees, small rivers, geraniums, and vast grasslands. Entering the county, I passed by its landmark White Pagoda complex, a truly magnificent sight. The streets are clean and well-planned, with numerous hot pot restaurants and a pedestrian mall. The county has everything you need, and most importantly, it's absolutely stunning, with blue skies and fresh air. It's a key transit point to Yading, and accommodations are significantly cheaper than in the Yading scenic area or Shangri-La.

The county town is neither too big nor too small, and it's well-stocked. As a tourist destination, Daocheng is relatively well-equipped. Compared to Shangri-La, Daocheng is more complete and has better public security. There's a lot to see and do around Daocheng. Transportation is convenient. If you're heading to the Yading Scenic Area, I think it's a good idea to transit through Daocheng.

It happened to be the Autumn Festival, and I wandered among the local people aimlessly. I stayed there for 3 days and was reluctant to leave. The local people were very warm and simple. The most important thing is that the scenery is super beautiful. I want to live in a place all year round, a place I never get tired of visiting no matter how many times I go.

Not much to say, anyway, I like it very very very much.

The urban construction in Daocheng County is relatively good. The whole city is relatively clean and tidy, and there is plenty of sunlight.

Daocheng itself doesn't have much scenery. The most recommended is the Rubuchaka Hot Spring, which is 3 kilometers away from the county seat. It's a small village, only a 10-minute drive southeast of Daocheng County. The first time I went there, a fellow traveler recommended it to me, so I added the owner on WeChat. The owner was very welcoming and we became friends. The second time I went there, the owner happened to be in Chengdu on business. He even asked the owner's wife to make tea for us personally. I was really grateful. The hot spring is in a small private room, and the water is changed for each guest. It is very clean. After the guests leave, the water is drained and disinfected to welcome the next guest. The water is directly from the hot spring entrance. The hot and cold water is adjustable, warm and comfortable. Many nearby Tibetans also come to soak in the hot spring. I went too late and could only sit on the benches to queue up. I didn't see many cars in front of other people's houses, but there was a traffic jam in front of his house. Haha, please remember - Rubuchaka Village is the "No. 1 Hot Spring Village on the Edge of the World". It is 6 stars recommended. You will know when you go there.

Daocheng County felt quite comfortable, and the streets were very clean. However, we were unlucky during the few days we were there; it rained, but by the time we left, it was sunny. I felt extremely unbalanced and burst into tears...

Daocheng County is very small. It is the season for digging Cordyceps sinensis, and most of the residents go into the mountains to dig.

It is very modern, the city is clean and tidy, and bees can go to the square to dance like us and integrate into the local customs.

I stayed in three places along the way, Kangding, Daocheng, and Yading. I always have some thoughts in my mind. I am developing and experiencing, with some beauty and some loss.

The county town is not big. You can rent a small motorcycle and walk around it in an hour. The restaurants are concentrated on one road. There is an Aden Museum that you can visit.

Daocheng is a very clean tourist town. Almost every store has a sign saying "five bags" (compared to the usual three-bag policy elsewhere). The city is well-equipped with local restaurants and bars. The town itself is small, but the environment is pleasant.

The county town is large and not crowded, and it is a transit station for tourists, but it has everything.

Daocheng County is clean and tidy, and the roads are relatively wide. The overall feeling is better than Kangding, the capital of Ganzi Prefecture.

There are many hotels here, and there are still some good ones. The fame of Daocheng Yading has brought great changes to the small county of Daocheng. Tourism is definitely the pillar industry here!

Daocheng is at a high altitude, so I had a slight case of altitude sickness when I first arrived. The county town isn't big, so I wandered around a bit. On my last day, I went to the White Pagoda. It happened to be a sacrificial ceremony, so it was packed. That evening, I went to the square to watch the Guozhuang performance. I also took photos of a little brother and sister, but I can't send them any photos.

We stayed at Nana's house in Daocheng County. It was the off-season, so there were fewer tourists. The entire living room, which had been converted into a multi-person room, was reserved for the three of us girls. Nana was the proprietress, and her family was very warm and welcoming. After dinner, we chatted with them, drank butter tea, and ate apples grown on their own land. These little moments were truly unforgettable.

It's a small county town with nice buildings, many Tibetan-style buildings, and clean roads. It feels peaceful.

There are relatively few people, and it feels like there is basically no public transportation, but the security is quite good.

Daocheng County isn't large, so you need to stay overnight in Daocheng before visiting Yading. We visited in October. The Sangdui Red Grass Beach is beautiful, the Daocheng White Pagoda is a landmark, and the starry sky at night is stunning. There are many hotels in Daocheng County, and we stayed at the Gongga Hotel, which was quite good. The restaurant there served delicious Sichuan cuisine. We also had delicious beef noodles for breakfast at Weizhixian Noodle House (owned by a Chengdu native).

The prices are high, but it is better to go to Aden Village than here.

The owner of Lema Tingfeng Inn in Daocheng County is very easygoing. The inn is decorated in a very artistic style. We all like it very much. It has complete facilities.

They are all Tibetan-style houses, with clean and wide roads. Especially at sunset, they are surrounded by mountains and overhead is a clear blue sky with white clouds.

Daocheng County is quite small, and many places are under construction. It feels like a tourist city is being developed. Chartering a car to the airport or Aden is 200 yuan.

We came and went at night, but the accommodation was still very clean and tidy, which is much better than Shangri-La Town.

I visited Daocheng Yading for 4 days and stayed in Yading for 2 days. The scenery was beautiful and tiring, but it was worth it. Daocheng Dianzhu brother took me on a one-day tour to Daocheng, visiting Haizi Mountain + Xingyicuo + Bangpu Temple. It felt more beautiful than Yading and the journey was very comfortable. Great, highly recommended!

Daocheng County is about a 40-minute drive from the airport and a one-hour drive from the Yading Scenic Area. If you're flying, you can fly directly from Chengdu, Kunming, and Kangding. You can fly from Xi'an, Hangzhou, and Lhasa to Daocheng via Chengdu. If you're driving, it takes two to three days to drive from Chengdu along National Highway 318. The altitude is about 4,200 meters, which is quite high, so don't run or jump, or do strenuous exercise in the county to avoid altitude sickness. You can take Rhodiola rosea a week in advance, or prepare some Western food. There are many hotels in the county, and the usual prices are between 200 and 300 yuan. During holidays, the prices triple, so it's best to travel off-peak. All the shops in the county are 10%-20% more expensive than other places, and the price will increase further if it's during holidays. I don't know if Daocheng has no water plant or the tap water doesn't meet the standards. The water in the hotel is a bit muddy, so it's best to drink bottled water. The county is covered by 4G network, but the network is sometimes not very stable.

The place where we stayed on the last night was at an altitude of 3,700 meters. The food here was quite delicious. It was said that it was all shipped from Chengdu and Yunnan. The accommodation conditions were also good, clean and had a separate bathroom.

It's a small county town with only one commercial street, but it's still nice.

Daocheng, also known as Daocheng, was originally a place for rice experiments... The county seat is just a county seat. There is a Yading Museum, but nothing special. The surrounding scenery is very nice.

The environment is great, and the pancakes with yak yogurt are amazing! It's the pancake in the fourth picture—so good! You can see both the White Pagoda and the Poplar Forest, but my favorite is the Gesang flowers.

Daocheng electric car one-day tour, 130 yuan/day.

That day was the happiest day. The scenery was beautiful, the sky was blue, there were mountains, water and cows around, and wherever the sun shone, it was golden. But the wind was very cold.

Local residents usually communicate in Tibetan. The average temperature here in October is 5.3℃. The journey is difficult and dangerous, but after all, it is irreplaceable in my heart. She is here.

Daocheng in autumn is not only known for its ultra-blue sky, but also for its unbridled clouds and the endless poplar forests along the way.

The county has a train station, a hospital, a vegetable market, a supermarket, and most of the restaurants are hotels. Prices are relatively high because transportation is not convenient.

Many people say that Daocheng is most beautiful in autumn. I think each place has its own charm. In summer, there is no scorching heat here, and the drizzle is quite like a small town in the south. A rainbow appears in the sky inadvertently.

At dusk, on the main road leading to Daocheng, about 20 kilometers from the county seat, rainbows appear, especially during autumn rains. This natural phenomenon transports you to a magical scene.

Daocheng has beautiful scenery. With the coordination of light and shadow, you can easily take good pictures with a compact camera. Riding by Sangdui and along the river in autumn is even more picturesque.

I would like to recommend this to all the travel enthusiasts. It is very comfortable to get up early and see Daocheng in the early morning. The streets sprinkled with water in the morning and the air smells so good that it is totally worth getting up at 6:30.

Sweeping the streets in a place like this is a real pleasure. There are no people or cars, but there are cows and horses, blue sky and white clouds, and two neat rows of Tibetan houses.

Daocheng County isn't much to do, as most of the attractions are located nearby. The highlights include Provincial Highway 216, which turns off from National Highway 318, Sangdui Town, Hongcaodi, and Yading.

There are many accommodation options in Daocheng, so you don't have to worry about not being able to book a bed. However, the accommodation conditions are average.

It was strange that in the Tibetan Buddhist temples in western Sichuan, the lamas all allowed me to take photos, and some even took photos of me.

I walked around the county town for a while and saw several stalls selling Tibetan medicine and Tibetan jewelry.

There is a lot of construction going on in many places, and it is very dusty. Many hostels are mostly occupied by people traveling to Aden.
