We took a shortcut through the frozen river to the introduction sign of Yangmaiyong. Today's itinerary is closely related to it. At this time, I was not in awe of walking on the ice road. I didn't know that the journey behind me would be inseparable from ice. In winter, animals hibernate. I didn't see either red fox or deer, which was a bit regretful. There are a lot of cow dung on the meadow, which has created fertile alpine pastures. Be careful to avoid it when walking. The starting point of the hike, you can see Yangmaiyong when you look up, and you can see Xianuoduoji when you look back. You can see the back of Xiannairi to the right. Surrounded by mountains, you feel small. The steep Yangmaiyong is shaped like a sharp sword. A close look at the snow-capped Yangmaiyong, 5958 meters above sea level, and the lake under the mountain has also formed a thick layer of ice. This is actually a lake, just like the Pearl Sea under Xiannairi. When it is not frozen, Yangmaiyong and the surrounding yellow leaves are completely reflected in the lake, which is also a wonder of Aden. The starting point of the caravan road, here is called a special horse, which is actually a mule. Because this place is in a sunny position, there is little snow left and the terrain is relatively flat. At that time, I really thought that the rest of the road would be like this. I also thought that we could reach the end in an hour. Why did the driver ask us to take it easy? We walked to a boulder, where many tourists stopped. This is the best place to take a photo with Yangmaiyong. Standing on the protruding boulder, the whole mountain is recorded in the camera. This is the most romantic encounter with the snow mountain during the trip. Say hello to the mountain and take a TikTok video. It is rare to have such good weather in winter, bathed in plenty of sunshine.

On the left side of the stairs we were walking on was the snow-capped peak of Yangmaiyong. We had walked from the foot of the mountain to the halfway point, and the snow-capped peak seemed to be within reach.

Luorong Cattle Farm is the best place to appreciate Yangmaiyong, and most of Yangmaiyong's masterpieces were completed here.



On the way from Chonggu Temple to Luorong Ranch by electric car, if the weather is good, the first place you can see the full view should be Xianuoduoji. Although the weather is good today, Xianuoduoji has not appeared yet.

When riding the electric car, Xiao Kun and I were facing the direction of travel, while Hong Kun had his back to the direction of travel. On the way, the looming figure of Xia Nuo Duo Ji was always in front of the left. Continuing forward, after passing the Shengshui Gate, there was a big bend in front, and the electric car drove quickly along the bend to Luorong Ranch. At the turning point, suddenly, Yangmaiyong, which was pointing straight to the sky in the distance, rushed towards us. Although I was mentally prepared, it still brought me a "shock that was caught off guard"!

At this moment, Yangmaiyong looked like an eagle with its wings spread and its head raised high, standing proudly on the Luolong Cattle Farm, ready to soar into the sky!

Strictly speaking, Daocheng is not along National Highway 318. If we zoom in on the map with Daocheng Yading Scenic Area as the center, Daocheng is actually closer to Diqing, Yunnan. Crossing the snow-capped mountains near Yading, Pudacuo and Lugu Lake are to the south. For this reason, this Yunnan-Sichuan border area is also called the Greater Shangri-La area.

After years of construction, Daocheng County has built up a large number of tourist facilities. If you plan to travel in depth in Daocheng, you can consider using Daocheng County as a transit station. But please note: Daocheng County is actually a long way from the Yading Scenic Area. It takes nearly 70 kilometers to drive south from Daocheng County to the entrance of the Yading Scenic Area - Shangri-La Town. This is a bit like a base camp for rest before climbing. With the booming tourism industry, Shangri-La Town has long been full of hotels and hostels, and is very prosperous. At the same time, due to the limited reception capacity of Yading Village in the scenic area, most tourists actually stay in Shangri-La Town.

The entrance to the scenic area is now very large. You have to climb stairs and take elevators to get in. Entering the gate is just the beginning. You also have to take the scenic area sightseeing bus.

The scenic area sightseeing bus has a total of 4 stops, and the final stop is "Zhaguanbeng". Among them, the No. 2 stop is located in Yading Village. The accommodation conditions in the village are obviously much higher than those 7 years ago, but it is estimated that there is still some gap with Shangri-La Town. It takes 1 hour to take a bus from Shangri-La Town to Yading Village. Getting off at Zhaguanbeng is the official start of the Yading trip.

There are two tour routes in the Yading Scenic Area: the long route and the short route. The long route refers to the route from Chonggu Temple via Luorong Cow Farm to Milk Lake and Five Color Lake, and the short route refers to the route from Chonggu Temple to Pearl Lake (also called Zhuoma Lacuo). Generally speaking, it is best to leave enough time for the long route. If you walk faster, the short route can be completed in about half a day. The order of the two routes depends on your schedule. The ticket to the scenic area is valid for 48 hours and does not affect the second entry and exit.

After getting off the bus at Zhaguanbeng, the long route needs to climb a mountain road to Chonggu Temple. It takes about 10 to 20 minutes for different people to have different physical strength. This road is a must for both the long and short routes. Go up along the stream, with very beautiful plateau forest scenery on both sides. When you reach the location of Chonggu Temple, you can see the majestic Xiannairi. After Chonggu Temple, continue forward to take the second sightseeing bus and officially start the long trek. It is strongly recommended to take this sightseeing bus. After all, there is a 12-kilometer hike from Luorong Ranch to fully exert your physical strength. This section of the sightseeing bus continues to go deeper into the valley along the river. If the weather is good, you can clearly see the peak of Xianuo Doji. Here I want to knock on the blackboard: the front of Xianuo Doji can only be seen when the sightseeing bus passes by this direction. After arriving at Luorong Ranch or even Milk Sea, you can see the side of Xianuo Doji. After getting off the bus at Luorong Ranch, the long-term hiking part began. The front makeup photo of Yangmaiyong taken at the Luorong Ranch drop-off point is really spectacular.

There are three snow-capped peaks in Daocheng Yading Scenic Area, which are not far from each other and arranged in the shape of a Chinese character "品": the east peak, Xianuo Duoji, the south peak, Yangmaiyong, and the north peak, Xiannairi. The three snow-capped peaks are white and steep, like sharp swords piercing the sky. Xiannairi is like a giant Buddha, sitting proudly; Yangmaiyong is like a girl, quiet and dignified, pure and innocent; Xialang Duoji is like a boy, strong and resolute, and full of energy. There are more than 30 horn peaks around the snow peaks, large and small, with various shapes and spectacular.

The higher we went, the fewer trees there were. At 9:50, we reached the highest point of the pass. The most difficult part was finally over, and the view in front of us suddenly opened up.

Hanging on the gravel slope are tourists riding horses. Once the horses reach here, they can no longer go forward, and everyone has to walk to the sea in their hearts.

The altitude of this pass is higher than that of Milk Lake at 4,600 meters. Tourists climb up to reach the Five-Colored Lake at 4,700 meters above sea level.

The scenery is first-class and the trip is worthwhile. The best arrangement is to stay in Yading Village, get up early and take the scenic sightseeing bus to Luolong Ranch, then walk or ride a horse to the Five-Colored Lake, and take a short walk from Chonggu Temple to Luolong Ranch the next day.

When I first saw Yangmaiyong, it kept hiding in the clouds and refused to come out, but its reflection in the water was so clear and bright, so beautiful that I couldn't breathe. The effect of the photo could not express the feeling I had when I first saw it, it was too beautiful.

I waited until the sun went down. My phone was not very good, so the photos I took were not very good. But for someone like me who was watching the sunrise over Jinshan Mountain for the first time, it was very gratifying.

If Xianuoduoji is like a brave and tenacious boy, then Yangmaiyong is like a pure and beautiful girl standing between heaven and earth. This mountain is called the most beautiful mountain in the world by American Mr. Locke. I think he is showing off a little bit because his book is for Westerners. When he came to Daocheng Yading, not to mention foreigners, even Chinese people were few and far between. It can be said that at that time, this place was still a secret place. But I really admire his courage and envy him for being so good at having fun.

In some people's minds, Yangmaiyong is the most beautiful snow mountain, and so is it for me, no doubt about it.

Needless to say, it's a must, beautiful scenery, I went there in autumn and this summer too, but I was not allowed to step on the grass, which was a bit too much!

Among the "Three Protectors" snow-capped mountains, I like Yangmai Yong the most. The shape of its main peak is fierce and vigorous, like a spear pointing straight to the blue sky.

The morning sunlight shines on the snow-capped mountains, making them look particularly magnificent, standing proudly between heaven and earth.

Some guys are carrying toilets up the mountain. The toilets are made of stainless steel and are really heavy. It takes about 8 strong men to carry them at the same time. We ordinary people are already out of breath when climbing on the plateau, let alone them who are carrying heavy loads. They need to rest after walking for a while, and while resting, they say very kindly, "You go first." I really want to cry when I see this scene. Everyone sees that while the outside world is developing so well, there are still a group of people who need to work so hard. After all, this is a job, and scenic spots also need people to create and maintain them. Scenic spots will eventually go through these in the process of development, in order to give tourists a better experience.

One side of the fork in the road leads uphill to the Five-Colored Lake, while the other side leads gently to the Milk Lake.

There is a small loop. Going uphill is the Five Color Lake, and then going downhill from the other end to the Milk Lake. After playing in the Milk Lake, walk back gently. It is a circle, and you can't go back.

I chose to climb the Five-Colored Lake first, and then the easy part. Otherwise, I might not have the energy to climb the Five-Colored Lake. So, I drank Red Bull and planned to climb the Five-Colored Lake!

This road made me want to cry, it's really steep!

The prayer flags are so sacred, and only Tibetans have this kind of belief. The sparsely populated hilltops and passes are covered with prayer flags, praying for peace, good weather, and happiness. It is very sacred and pious.

If you take a boat on the lake and use a bamboo pole to approach Yangmaiyong Snow Mountain, you will forget the time and wonder whether you are in the sky or on the ground. You can take pictures of the reflection of the snow mountain when there is no wind on the other side.

You can't go down the grass, but some people still ignore this warning. Personally, I think it's also nice to sit on the wooden boardwalk and take pictures. You don't have to go down, and the mud on the grass is very soft. I saw that the shoes of the people who came up were all dirty.

Unfortunately, I am ashamed to say that I forgot which sacred mountain it corresponded to after taking the photos (I was guessing in every photo - it might be Xiannairi, Xianuoduoji, or Yangmaiyong...) Words cannot describe the shock that seeing the snow-capped mountains up close brought me. Photos may be more intuitive.

The three sacred mountains stand in a triangle on the earth. The legends and stories of the past inspire the people of Aden, the people of Tibet, and generations of Buddhist disciples.

It happened to snow the day before we arrived in Aden. When I went to the Aden scenic area the next day, all I saw were snow-capped mountains. The first mountain I saw at Chonggu Temple was Xiannairi. The snow-white mountain gave people a feeling of being both far and near. Since I live in Jiangsu and Zhejiang, I have rarely seen snow-capped mountains since I was a child. Seeing such a shocking snow-capped mountain scenery, I was extremely excited. I wished I could cling to the snow-capped mountain and not move at this moment, haha.

Later, on the way to the Five-Colored Lake and the Milk Lake, with the help of the locals, I finally recognized Yangmai Yong and Xianuo Doji. Just at noon, I accidentally took a picture of a rainbow in the snow-capped mountains. It was really amazing and beautiful. I really hope to have the opportunity to live quietly in Daocheng for a while to wash away the restlessness in my heart. This is the last pure land on earth - Daocheng Yading.

Yangmaiyong is so beautiful that it stands out from the rest of the world. It is the most eye-catching mountain from any angle and in any scene. No wonder Locke wrote when he first saw Yangmaiyong: "Under the clear sky in front of me stands the unparalleled Yangmaiyong Snow Peak. It is the most beautiful snow mountain I have ever seen."

There is a lake in Luorong Ranch where you can take pictures. It's best not to go down to the grass, or the staff will tell you.

~Early in the morning of the third day, we arrived at the gate of the scenic area. Today we took the long route, which required us to walk to the Milk Sea at an altitude of 4500m in one breath, passing Chonggu Temple, Luorong Pasture, Yangmaiyong Sacred Mountain, Xianuoduoji Sacred Mountain, and Five-Colored Sea. You can take a shuttle bus from Chonggu Temple to Luorong Pasture. The mountain climbing distance is about 5 kilometers one way. If you choose the long route, you must be prepared for the mountain climbing. Bring dry food for lunch. We brought self-heating rice and some biscuits, because there is no canteen behind except Luorong Pasture where you can buy some food, and you must prepare enough water. In order to prevent rain, we also brought raincoats. Practice has proved that this is the most correct choice, because if it rains on the mountain, holding an umbrella is useless, and it is not convenient to walk. Get ready! ~The shuttle buses in the scenic area are with and without canopies... When I first saw Yangmaiyong, she shyly covered her face with clouds and mist. The only regret this time was that the weather was bad and she didn't see the sacred mountain, but the scenery of Aden was indeed beautiful, and she was actually satisfied.
