Bada is a place to watch the sunset. It is known as the place where millions of suns are scattered. The spectacular, beautiful lines and strong three-dimensional sense are the first impressions that people get. From Malizhai at an altitude of 800 meters, Bada has tens of thousands of acres of terraced fields extending all the way to the top of a mountain at an altitude of 2,000 meters, lifting the Hani villages of Malizhai, Bada, Shangmadian, Quanfuzhuang and others high into the sea of ​​clouds. Terraced fields in different locations and shapes are something that even the Hani people never thought of, but now they form beautiful oil paintings.

I originally wanted to go to Laoyingzui first, but then I felt that time was a bit tight, so I went directly to Bada. It was only four o'clock when I arrived, and it was still early for sunset.

At this time, there was no one else in Bada except our family, so we took the opportunity to take a few photos, because we wouldn’t be able to take photos if there were too many people around.

As the sun sets, the colors of the terraces become lighter.

Bada Terraces is the largest area of ​​the entire Yuanyang Terraces, reaching 14,000 mu. If you go to Yuanyang and don't say that the terraces are big, you must have not seen Bada Terraces! Compared with the fame of "Laohuzui" and the elegance of "Duoyi Tree", the scenery of "Bada" is not outstanding, but it has a great atmosphere. Bada Terraces stretches from hundreds of meters above sea level to the top of a mountain with an altitude of 2,000 meters. The thousands of terraces are like a ladder to the sky, reaching the sky. Looking around, although the lines of the terraces are simple, they have a strong sense of three-dimensionality, are spectacular, and shocking.

Bada Scenic Area is one of the first three terraced scenic areas (Bada, Duoyishu, and Laohuzui) that you pass by when entering the Yuanyang Hani Terraced Fields Scenic Area. The magnificence of Bada can only be appreciated by standing near the viewing platform and looking out. The terraces climb from the valley to the mountainside, towering like stairs to heaven. From the foot of the mountain to the top of the mountain, there are more than 3,900 levels at most. Each terrace is a photo that can be hung on the wall when enlarged with a telephoto lens. Bada Scenic Area consists of two viewing platforms. The viewing platforms are very narrow and long, and it is easy to get crowded if there are many people. [Recommendation] Continue walking 50 meters along the road from Bada Scenic Spot in the direction of Duoyishu, and there will be a road to Bada Village. There are two places on the roadside along the way down to see the scenery of Bada Terraced Fields. Finally, you will reach the square of Bada Village, where you can also enjoy the beautiful scenery of the terraced fields from another angle.

Bada Terraces are located 16 kilometers south of Xinjie Town, Yuanyang, Yunnan. It is a famous scenic spot for viewing sunset, terraces, sea of ​​clouds and Hani village scenery. Bada Terraces are large in area, beautiful in lines and strong in three-dimensional sense. The terraces are steep and majestic. They change with the terrain of the mountains. Large fields are cultivated on gentle slopes and small fields are cultivated on steep slopes. Therefore, the terraces are several acres in size and only as big as a winnowing basket. Often there are tens of thousands of acres on one slope. It goes up the mountain from the Malizhai River at an altitude of 800 meters. The mountains are connected and intertwined, extending to an altitude of more than 2,000 meters. There are more than 3,500 levels of terraces, with the ridges of the terraces as the calculation unit.

When we first arrived at the scenic spot to watch the sunset, we first went to the terraced field called Bada. The viewing platform here has a wide view, and the terraced field has a large drop. The panoramic view is magnificent. To take good photos, in addition to praying for clear weather, it is best to have a drone. All cars are parked outside on the narrow mountain road, and it takes a lot of effort to get out after watching, which is not very friendly for self-driving.

Bada Terraces The Bada Terraces scenic area is located in the core area of ​​Yuanyang Terraces National Wetland Park and the World Cultural Heritage Application, 14 kilometers away from the old county seat. There are more than 950 hectares of magnificent terraces. The Bada Terraces are spectacular, with beautiful lines and a strong sense of three-dimensionality.

Among the main scenic spots of Yuanyang Rice Terraces, Bada Rice Terraces is the largest. It is very magnificent to stand on the viewing platform! Compared with Laohuzui, Bada Rice Terraces is more convenient for transportation. You can also watch the sunset here, but the sunset scenery is not as good as Laohuzui. Quanfu Village, Mali Village and Laoyingzui near Bada are suitable for hiking. If you have enough time in Yuanyang Rice Terraces, you can hike here.

The viewing platform in the scenic area is under maintenance and construction, so it is a bit difficult to walk. I barely took two photos of the red and blue terraces. The red water area is actually caused by red algae growing in the water.

On the way to Doi Suthep for the night, the terraced fields at the Bada Observation Deck, which were originally shrouded in thick fog, actually began to reveal their beauty.

The best place to watch the sunset, the observation deck was packed with people, and the good seats in the first row were already occupied. Drones, guns and cannons were ready, but I personally felt that the water volume in the terraces was not sufficient to reflect the golden sunset, and it was not as beautiful as the pictures on the Internet.

Another scenic spot of Yuanyang Rice Terraces, but not as good as Duoyishu.

Looking from the two viewing platforms, the surrounding mountains are covered with terraces, which is a spectacular scene. Especially under the sunlight, it is a dreamy color.

The two super beautiful observation decks have views from the front and side.

The Bada Scenic Area is divided into the upper observation deck and the lower observation deck. The upper observation deck is the main viewing point of the scenic area, with a wider area. The lower observation deck is relatively small and can accommodate not many people. When we went there, we went to the lower observation deck first. There were not many people here, so we could take a few photos with peace of mind.

After taking a few photos at the lower observation deck, we went to the upper observation deck. However, we were dumbfounded when we got there. There were so many people, with cameras and cameras everywhere. There was no place to stand. Some people were arguing over a spot. We instantly lost all interest and didn’t even want to watch the sunset. We just left!

There were a lot of people, everyone was there early to grab a spot, waiting for the sunset, most of them were photography groups, taking advantage of the most beautiful season to take big pictures. We were both dissatisfied with this sunset, there was no golden feeling at all.

There is a saying that there are "three qualities" when it comes to viewing terraced fields in Yuanyang. What are the "three qualities"? They are the fame of the Laohuzui Terraces, the elegance of the Duoyishu Terraces, and the grandeur of the Bada Terraces. Therefore, the Bada Terraces are the largest and most three-dimensional of all the terraced fields in Yuanyang. Tens of thousands of acres of terraced fields are stacked together, as if they were a ladder to heaven. The weather in the mountains is like the face of a three-year-old child, cloudy and sunny. Due to the weather and the fact that the mountain shape here is not as beautiful as that of Laohuzui, I took some photos of the details here and went home.

This place is a favorite for photography enthusiasts, attracting countless people every day to come and see its beauty. No matter how hot-tempered a person is, he will lose his temper in such a place.

The scenic area closes at 7:30, and the sun sets at about 7. This time of year is the best time to see the terraces, and local residents will irrigate the fields in advance to ensure the charm of the terraces when the sun shines down.

Bada is another famous place to watch the sunset in the scenic area. It is known as the terraced field with the largest drop and scale in Yuanyang. There are two viewing platforms. No. 2 is suitable for taking sunset photos. There are much fewer people than Laohuzui. In fact, there is no need to pay to enter the Bada Scenic Area. Just walk along the road to Bada Village, which is directly below the viewing platform. There is a viewing platform with the same angle but slightly lower. It is free. There is no cloud in Bada, so it is difficult to take good photos.

The weather was bad when I came here, and the fog was too thick. The sunset should be beautiful. I look forward to coming here to see the beautiful sunset again next time.

Great scenery, but your tickets are a bit expensive, but it's beautiful even when you stand outside.

Standing at the Malizhai Tea Factory to view the terraced fields, the nearly 10,000 mu of terraced fields are like a sloping sea, with sparkling waves rushing into the eyes. The scenery is very spectacular. After 4 pm, the white sloping sea gradually turns pink, red, and then pink and white as the sun sets.

The viewing platform of Daba Scenic Area is located in the middle of the Daping Highway from Duoyishu Viewing Platform to the old road from Xinjie Town to Luchun County. Daba Scenic Area is a large slope terraced field, and the momentum of the entire terraced field seems to be the largest among the Yuanyang terraced fields. However, as a scene for shooting sunset, it should be located after Tiger Mouth in terms of effect.

The terraced fields in the Bada scenic area are too far from the viewing platform. We can only feel the vastness of the terraced fields from a distance on the platform, and we can't get the moving scenery through the camera. In the end, we had to go back a little disappointed. After passing the naked horse point, we found a small road leading to the village. We continued to exercise our infinite curiosity of adventure and went down the stairs step by step. After asking an old man who was coming towards us, we learned that this long and slightly broken stone staircase was the old road in the past. The asphalt road we walked from Shengcun to Bada was newly opened later. We who love old things were really happy, as if we had discovered a secret place that other outsiders could not interfere with.

Happily traveling through unfamiliar terraced villages, we passed the Eagle's Mouth in Luomadian, Mali Village, and then went around to Shangzulu Laozhai.

The terraces in Bada are closely arranged, very large in scale, and magnificent. But apart from magnificent, I can't think of any other adjectives. After seeing the terraces for a few days, I'm a little numb... So, no matter how good the food is, don't eat too much... On the contrary, after leaving the scenic area, a piece of wild small terraces reflecting the colorful clouds in the sky feels more beautiful. Just like people, you need to pay attention to the feeling and the timing of encounter when looking at the scenery😄

As soon as we got on the road, we found that the fog in Duoyishu had dissipated, but the fog in other places had not dissipated!

It was all white everywhere, visibility was extremely low! The terraces were only vaguely visible.

Especially in Bada, I couldn't even see the shadow of the terraced fields~~

After leaving the Duoyishu Scenic Area and driving towards the exit of Yuanyang Terraces, you will soon pass the Bada Scenic Area, which is below the Duoyishu Scenic Area. The sea of ​​clouds you see when watching the sunrise at Duoyishu comes from the direction of Bada, so if you go in the morning, the scenic area will be shrouded in fog and you won't be able to see much.

Maybe I went at a wrong time. It was already noon, the light was hard, and the effect was average.

This is a good place to take photos of the sunset, but Tiger Mouth is more spectacular. When you go to Duoyishu, you will pass Shengcun Township and you can stay there.

We went there at a wrong time, so the scenery we saw was average, but a section of the scenic road in the Bada Scenic Area was very beautiful.

Unfortunately, it started to rain as soon as we arrived at Bada at 15:30. The entire valley of Bada Scenic Area was suddenly covered by thick fog, and we couldn't see anything. The drizzle continued to fall, and the fog became thicker and thicker. After waiting for about half an hour, I felt that there was no hope, so I had to leave with regret.

However, among the Yuanyang terraces, only the terraces of Bamei are well preserved. The ones at Laohuzui are much worse. Many crops have been harvested, and some terraces are abandoned. I don’t know how long the beautiful scenery of Yuanyang terraces can be preserved.

The breeze gently blows open your veil, allowing me to see the rising light, red, orange, blue, and green, and the sky turns into a poem of gathering and separation.

All the standing space along the guardrails on the viewing platform of Bada Terraces was occupied by masters and expert photographers, leaving no room for even a pin. There was no Longjiang style to speak of at this time, as they had waited for hours under the scorching sun without any shade, just to take photos for a few minutes at sunset. So people later did not think it was strange.

The water in Bada is full of gleaming water and the mountains are misty. The scene is so magnificent that it is not easy to take a panoramic photo and I cannot capture that feeling, so most of the photos I took only a partial view.

There are actually four places in Yuanyang Rice Terraces that charge admission tickets. Tiger Mouth, Duoyishu, Bada and Jingkou all require a ticket. If you don't want to go to the viewing platform, you don't have to buy a ticket at all. You can see the same rice terraces in other places, but the viewing platform is in a slightly better location, that's all.

Looking down from the mountain at the magnificent Bada Rice Terraces, one feels like being in a remote and wild place.

Bada is also a good place to watch the sunset. It is crowded and you can only find a seat by luck.

The terraced fields in Bada are huge in scale. When the weather is good, the terraced fields are all blue and are called "Blue Fields". Unfortunately, the fog was too heavy on the day we came, so we could only see the yellow and white fields, which was a bit regrettable.

Bada is the place with the highest chance of seeing the sea of ​​clouds in the Hani Terraces. Unfortunately, we did not encounter a beautiful sea of ​​clouds at noon.

The white sea of ​​clouds in the canyon, the endless terraces, the undulating mountains in the distance, this dreamlike beauty gave our vision and soul a strong and huge impact. Everyone was intoxicated and amazed! This is really a feast for the eyes, a feast for the eyes! It is really worth the trip!
