Guanyin Tiao, a massive rock at the foot of the sea cliffs near Xifang Jingyuan Temple, bears the inscription "Guanyin Tiao" (Avalokitesvara Tiao) and a large footprint, 42 cm long and 14 cm wide, on its summit. Legend has it that this rock served as a boost for Guanyin Bodhisattva, who leaped from Mount Luojia to the sacred site of Putuo Mountain. It is also said that this rock served as the foundation for the Bodhisattva's journey to the sea, reflecting on herself and achieving enlightenment. Hence, it's also known as the "Guanyin Tiaohai Stone."

Guanyin Tiao is the closest place between Putuo Mountain and Luojia Mountain. The Guanyin Tiao sea rocks are huge and flat, and are located on the side of a dangerous cliff.

Today, there is still a Bodhisattva's footprint on the top of the stone, which is very auspicious. It is one of the holy sites of Guanyin that believers who come to Putuo Mountain must visit.

Zhoushan's Guanyin Dance, a glimpse into the magical world of Buddhism, offers a breathtaking view of the vast expanse of blue waters, where the sea and sky merge into one. Legend has it that Guanyin Bodhisattva once paused here, gazed upon the scene, and left her footprints, hence the name. Devotees flock here to pray and make wishes, seeking a spiritual haven. Listening to the waves from the railing, one can relax and cultivate their mind, each breeze carrying a sense of Zen, bringing a sense of tranquility and profound enlightenment.

The Guanyin Leaping Scenic Area is located inside the main gate of Xifang Jingyuan and requires no admission. The so-called Guanyin Leaping Scenic Area is a square stone with a footprint-shaped indentation on top. Legend has it that this was the stone Guanyin Bodhisattva used to propagate the Dharma when she leaped from Mount Luojia to Mount Putuo. The view of the sea from this spot is stunning and should not be missed – compared to the bustling Nanhai Guanyin Temple on the other side, this spot is much quieter.

Guanyin jump is a huge... stone...

It looks like a huge piece of rock, hanging diagonally on the edge of the cliff, shaky yet as solid as a rock.

The following is professional scientific information from China-TravelNote:

It is said that this stone was the one that Avalokitesvara used as leverage when she leaped from Mount Luojia to the holy land of Putuo Mountain to spread the Dharma. It is also said that this stone was the one that the Bodhisattva stepped on when she looked out to sea, reflected on herself, and cultivated enlightenment. Therefore, it is also called "Avalokitesvara Looking Out to Sea Stone".

Today, there is still a Bodhisattva's footprint on the top of the stone, which is very auspicious. It is one of the holy sites of Guanyin that believers who come to Putuo Mountain must visit.

After exiting the Nanhai Guanyin statue, I walked back toward Guanyin Tiao. Then, I stopped before the inscribed stone tablet, facing the sea, and pondered for a long, long time. I thought about the years I'd gone through—the joys and the tears—but I'd been in Beijing for almost eight years, and I felt like I was stuck in the same place. What was my future? What was I going to do? My mood was truly bleak.
