Located in the southeast of Zhoushan Islands, it is the largest natural fishing port in China and one of the three largest fishing ports in the world.
In the evening, the fishing lights on the river are like a galaxy. During the fishing season, fishermen gather in the harbor, and the scenery of fish, sea and shrimp is particularly stunning.
This is the location of the famous Shenjiamen food stalls. After nightfall, there is an endless stream of people coming here to eat seafood. Eating seafood embraced by the sea breeze is a unique experience.

Stayed one night in Shenjiamen and it was very nice. The air quality was excellent, the wind was strong, and the seafood was delicious and affordable.
If you want to experience the most authentic Zhoushan, Shenjiamen Fishing Port is the place to be. Standing at the harbor in the middle of the night, you can still see the streets ablaze with lights. The brightly lit food stalls in Shenjiamen are filled with a halo of fish. The salty, fishy aroma permeates the atmosphere of life in this fishing port city.
A long time ago, when I went to Putuo Mountain, I had to take a ferry here. I remember that the boats at that time were made of wood, and each one had fish eyes painted on it, which was very beautiful. Now they have all been changed to iron boats.
The seafood in Shenjiamen is much fresher than what you'd find on the island or on a regular basis. The average price per dish is around 50 yuan, and it's truly delicious for foodies. The seafood vermicelli noodles, fried baby dragon fish, green pepper squid, seafood noodles, and steamed fish are all highly recommended! They're incredibly delicious and fresh! Especially fresh! Recommended restaurants: Da Pai Dang No. 55 and Yu Zhong Zhou Seafood Restaurant (you can take a Didi). Both restaurants were recommended by Didi drivers, and knowing someone they knew saved them 50 or 60 yuan. They were fantastic and we had a blast. However, I wouldn't recommend trying swimming crabs and mantis shrimp in early October; the meat isn't plump. It's better to go to Suzhou or Wuxi for Taihu crabs.
If you buy a boat ticket for the afternoon, you might as well go through the underwater tunnel to see Lujiazhi Island on the opposite bank and feel the sea breeze, which is very relaxing.
Most of the seafood sold in this dai pai dong are dead, and they also overcharge customers.
I just passed by on my way to the pier to take a boat. The scenery was just average, but there was a lot of seafood nearby.
It was late when we arrived in Zhoushan. It started to rain, and the lights were just coming on. We ate seafood at Shenjiamen Yujia Dapai. We also walked through the undersea tunnel to see the beautiful night view of Shenjiamen Wharf.
Most of the fishing boats were out to sea, so I didn't see the spectacular "boat-on-boat" scene. I just took some photos.
Some of Zhoushan's ships dock here, and Zhoushan's largest seafood wholesale market is also located here. Want to see thousands of fish catching fish during the fishing season? This is the place to go.
The harbor is full of masts and ships are lined up neatly as if waiting for inspection.
The rows of boats in the fishing port are very spectacular. You can just stop by the roadside to take a look.
A very spectacular pier, rows of fishing boats are moored here during the fishing ban period. If you catch the right time, you can see the magnificent sight of thousands of boats going out to sea.
Shenjiamen Fishing Port is located in the southern part of Zhoushan Island. It is the only way to reach Zhujiajian, Dongji Island, and Putuo Mountain in Zhoushan by land. Its location between Zhoushan Island, Zhujiajian Island, and Lujiazhi Island makes it the largest natural harbor in my country and one of the three most famous fishing ports in the world. Every October, the port is bustling with activity as the harvest arrives.

Looking at the buildings on the opposite bank from the riverside of Lujiazhi Island, the neon lights of Shenjiamen Fishing Port are flashing. Although they are not as bright as the lights of the Bund in Shanghai, they still show the prosperity of this fishing port.
Walking along the beach, from Duntou Wharf to the food stalls, you can see many fishing boats and an underwater passage!
Shenjiamen Fishing Port, Banshengdong Pier. This is the only place to take a boat to Dongji Island, but there are also boats to Putuo Mountain. The orange houses next to it are seafood stalls numbered from 1 to ?.
A very impressive place, where you can feel the resources that the ocean brings to the surrounding cities
I just like this place inexplicably, even though the sea water here is as yellow as the Yellow River. Maybe it’s because I can’t forget the photo of Shenjiamen Fishing Port in my primary and secondary school textbooks.
I just passed by and didn't play much. There was a lot of garbage on the deserted beach.
There are a lot of hotels along the way, and it doesn't matter where you stay. I stayed at the Youyou Pink Hotel, and the sea view room was okay. Regardless of where you stay, always ask if it's in the shade; if it is, it's going to be smelly! For food, head toward Banshengdong Pier. There's a row of small, uniformly built houses on the shoreside by the road. We ate there, and the prices were reasonable!
Every year, there is an endless stream of Chinese and foreign tourists who come here to visit.
It is a unique fishing port. When I went there, it was during the fishing ban period and there were many fishing boats parked in the port.
It's a relatively prosperous fishing port, I was just passing by.
Shenjiamen Fishing Port is located on the southeast side of Zhoushan Island, facing the East China Sea and backed by the Qinglong and Baihu Mountains. This natural, sheltered harbor, approximately ten miles long and half a mile wide, is China's largest natural fishing port and one of the world's three largest, along with Bergen Harbor in Norway and Callao Harbor in Peru. Together with Putuo Mountain, the Buddhist paradise of the sea and sky, Zhujiajian on Yandang Mountain, and Taohua Island, the fairyland on the sea, it forms the Golden Triangle of East China Sea tourism.
The scenery is amazing, but the seafood is not as affordable as it was a few years ago.
Shenjiamen is a perennial hub for fresh fish, crabs, shrimp, shellfish, and other marine products from around the world. At nightfall, the ten-mile-long seafood stalls along the harbor are bustling with visitors from all over the world. "Tasting seafood, enjoying the seascape, and purchasing seafood" has become another special tourist attraction at Shenjiamen Fishing Port.
Nestled between mountains and the sea, Shenjiamen Fishing Port is renowned for its scenic views, seafood, and seafood shopping. Across the sea, it overlooks the national scenic spots of Putuo Mountain and Zhujiajian, as well as Peach Blossom Island, a place famous in Jin Yong's novels. Through years of hard work, Shenjiamen's night food stalls have become renowned throughout East China and even nationwide, attracting a steady stream of tourists from both China and abroad. At night, the riverside streets bustle with activity, and the night food stalls stretch for miles, complemented by the fishing lights.
The fishing port isn't typically considered a tourist attraction, but after exploring it, I discovered it had something worth seeing. For example, where the fishing boats dock, you can see a wide variety of lively seafood, a truly exciting sight unlike anything you'd see at a market. You can also see a variety of fishing boats, including some resembling dragon boats. The port also boasts numerous seafood food stalls, a local spectacle. Since our visit wasn't peak season, nor was it the fishing season, the food stalls weren't open yet, and the usual bustle wasn't evident. The fishing port is definitely worth a visit.
One of China's most famous fishing ports, thousands of boats sail in and out daily. It's a bustling place, with fishing boats docked there, though the fishy smell can be a little off-putting at first. As for food, the seafood stalls at Shenjiamen are nationally renowned, but the prices are... Of course, buying your own seafood is cheaper at the International Seafood Market or Donghe Market, where most of the seafood is harvested after the boats dock, making it incredibly fresh. Traffic can be a bit congested, though, and finding parking can take over ten minutes every time I drive there.
Shenjiamen Fishing Port is China's largest natural fishing port, and is considered one of the world's three largest fishing ports, along with Bergen Port in Norway and Callao Port in Peru. Well, these three are bound to be another reason to collect stamps and check in. Sooner or later, I will complete my collection!
But I still have some doubts in my heart. What is the basis for such a large scale...?
Important traffic exit, there is a chance to stay and eat at the food stalls
You must stay in Shenjiamen the day before going to Dongji Island, because there is only one bus to Dongji Island, which is the morning ferry ticket.
There are many rows of big food stalls in front of Shenjiamen. The prices are not cheap. It is best to go AA when there are many people.
It's a very busy fishing port, with all kinds of food stalls along the road in front of it. There's not much entertainment, and breakfast is quite expensive in the morning.
Beautiful place, very characteristic of the fishing port, next time I will stay there for a night to see the night view
There are many special seafoods unique to Zhoushan in the night stalls. Swimming crabs, small yellow croakers, etc. are also unique delicacies and are definitely worth trying!
It was my first time seeing a fishing port. It turned out to be like this. Many boats were docked on the shore, and many boats were floating on the sea. Walking along the coast, there were all kinds of dried fish drying all the way. It felt very simple!
Whether you go to Dongji Island, Gouqi Island, Putuo Mountain, or Zhujiajian, you must pass through here. After passing through the Lujiazhi Tunnel in Shenjiamen, there is a construction site full of foxtail grass, which is very suitable for taking pictures.
You must eat seafood when you come to Zhoushan. It is fresh but tastes average. The price is not cheap.
Shenjiamen is a good place to go for a stroll. As for seafood, I have one thing to say: don't get ripped off.
The fishing port is the pier where fishing boats dock, and there are many seafood stalls next to it.
On the first day of our trip, we drove from Suzhou. The scenery was breathtaking as we crossed the Hangzhou Cross-Sea Bridge. 💛 In the afternoon, we arrived at Shenjiamen and checked into the Home Inn. We had planned to walk around the area for food, but there wasn't much to eat! We had originally planned to go to the Shenjiamen food stalls for dinner, but the taxi driver recommended a different spot. The entire street was lined with seafood restaurants! Every one looked pretty much the same!
I've never seen such neatly organized food stalls! Brightly lit at night, it's like a five-star food stall with a palace-like atmosphere! Wow, haha. It's amazing to still have so much seafood during the fishing season. The prices are clearly marked, so Mom doesn't have to worry about me getting ripped off. Dinner for four cost 340 yuan.
The area around Shenjiamen Fishing Port is very lively, with various food stalls and fresh seafood along the way.
As a Zhoushan native, I have a fairly good opinion of Shenjiamen Fishing Port. My childhood impression of Shenjiamen Bingang Road was that it was already filled with modern architecture. So, those hoping to see the original scenery of a small fishing village will be disappointed; even I haven't seen it. You can go at night for a beautiful view. To your right, you'll see the red Lujiazhi Bridge, which offers a breathtaking view of the entire fishing port at night. You can walk across the bridge to the other side, where you'll find Lujiazhi, and then back through the undersea tunnel to Bingang Road. There are many restaurants along Bingang Road, not on the waterfront, but on the inner side. The Shenjiamen night stalls are on the waterfront side, and while locals do eat there, most people go elsewhere. Seafood is indeed expensive, but it's very fresh and lively. Locals pay the same price at the market, and even a single seafood dish at home can be quite expensive. I recommend places with slightly lower prices. Don't worry about seafood not being fresh; there are many stalls that serve good seafood. For example, Hailian Road in Donggang is only a 10-minute taxi ride from Bingang Road, and the prices there are slightly lower. (The two pictures below are of Lujiazhi on the other side of the sea, and the red bridge is the Lujiazhi Bridge. I didn't take pictures of Bingang Road.)
There are many boats, very unique, it is still a good place
Transportation is very convenient, Didi and group buying software can be used, it is very lively, there will be traffic jams on holidays, and there will be traffic guards directing traffic on the road.
I went to Shenjiamen on April 30, 2016. Before going, I read the introduction of the food stalls on China-TravelNote and chose store No. 23. Two people ordered two crabs, a plate of shrimps, a black fish, vegetables, and clam soup, a total of four dishes and one soup, plus a bottle of beer (pictures and facts). The bill was 500 yuan in total. Although it was not as expensive as the sky-high fish prices in Harbin, it was the most expensive meal I have ever had. Here is a piece of advice for those friends who have not been there or want to go there. Of course, the rich will ignore it.
A strong sense of déjà vu of the naval port night, good news for friends who like to eat seafood, it is recommended not to be ripped off
Shenjiamen Fishing Port, there are many kinds of seafood, and the food stalls are more expensive
The pier is great. You can take a boat here to go to Dongji Island, Shengsi, and Taohua Island. If the weather is good, it is really comfortable to bask in the sun and blow the sea breeze.
I was prepared to be ripped off, but I was still ripped off. If it's sold by the pound, it's expensive, I think it's expensive. Hairtail is 88 per pound. If it's sold by the portion, it's half a plate. One portion of hairtail, one cabbage, one portion of salt and pepper river shrimp, one portion of razor clams, and two oysters. 240 yuan
Located on the southeast side of Zhoushan Island, facing the East China Sea, the fishing port is China's largest natural fishing port and one of the world's three largest. Along the port, there are many seafood stalls, and the seafood is super delicious.
It's a great place, only a ten-minute drive from the Zhujiajian Passenger Transport Center terminal, with roadside parking for just 5 yuan. Most small shops don't open until 10:30. We had lunch at the Gaojiazhuang Seafood Supermarket Restaurant, and for 150 yuan per person, we had a very good meal. Don't skimp on your money, as the seafood is so fresh.
I suggest friends who want to go there to dine at reputable food stalls. The sales and processing process is transparent, but the price is slightly higher. However, it is better than roadside shops because in roadside shops you look at the weighed seafood, but once it is brought into the kitchen and taken out, it is a completely different story. I have personal experience, and I want to remind friends that the fattest season for Zhoushan seafood is after the winter solstice, so friends who go there in summer should not have too high expectations.
It's just a seafood street, not much scenery, and it's hard to park. You can eat seafood here, but it's best to ask a few more restaurants. The prices of seafood seem to be fixed, but in fact, the quotations are different. The prices of restaurants with good water outlets are higher.
It's a must-see on any trip to Dongji Island. Nearby hotels are priced around 200+ (standard room). On a cool summer night, strolling along the beach, strolling around, and enjoying a few beers on the shore is truly relaxing.
I went there at the end of August, which is no longer the peak season. There are few people and it is leisurely. You can smell the fishy and salty sea breeze while walking on the beach. This is not Sanya, nor are it those foreign islands. If you want to experience the desolate sea view, then come here.
The pier is located here, and I didn’t visit other places much at that time.
The place where the boats are moored has very Zhoushan local characteristics.
It was already 10pm when we arrived, and it was pitch black. However, the weather was very good the next day, and the scenery was great.
It's said to be the largest natural fishing port in China? I arrived quite late and was tired that night so I didn't go out. I heard the night view is beautiful, but I saw a lot of people who looked like they were in special professions while eating dinner 😂 so I didn't dare to go out for a stroll. In the morning I wanted to walk along the fishing port and unexpectedly saw an old man fishing with a net. He was so skilled that the basket he was carrying was almost half full. Although the fish were not big, they are said to be very fresh.
This is my first stop in Zhoushan. As the sunset fades, fishing boats dock in an orderly fashion. The owners of the fishing port food stalls stand at their doorsteps, offering sincere greetings: "Handsome, have you eaten?" Shenjiamen Fishing Port is China's largest. At night, the food stalls here are bustling with activity, offering excellent value for money. The harborside food stalls are perfect for enjoying seafood. Sitting by the sea, watching the chefs at work, chatting and savoring fresh seafood is a delight. The nearby Banshengdong Pier offers direct boats to Dongji Island and Putuo Mountain, and you can stay in a hotel across the street, making it convenient for your next trip.
I come here every year. Although it’s a small town, everything is so peaceful and the people live a leisurely life! Of course, my favorite is Gaojiazhuang!
The fishing port here is not big, but it is very prosperous everywhere. There are many hotels and shops on the roadside. The business skills of the southerners are also well-developed here. I can walk around it in about three hours.
The overall feeling is average. Walking through the town, you no longer feel that this is an important fishing port. In fact, it is basically the same as other small towns in other cities, except that as a tourist town, it is more prosperous than other towns. The same commercial streets, the same square dances... Many of the former fishermen have gone ashore to do business, and only the fishing boats docked on the shore during the fishing moratorium tell a century-old story.
The scenery is beautiful and it is very convenient to live in this area.
Shenjiamen was different from what I had imagined, and also from the pictures I'd seen in other travelogues. I imagined it to be a small, primitive fishing village, but walking around it felt quite modern, with hotels and restaurants of all stripes lining the streets, a bridge in the distance, and newly built commercial housing.
The famous Shenjiamen Fishing Port is arguably the busiest spot in Zhoushan, comparable to Shanghai's Bund. The row of tents is home to seafood stalls, and the food is fresh, but expensive. With National Day being a major holiday and the crowds spiking, a meal for one person can cost as little as 150 yuan. So, I saved as much as I could and just had a quick snack that evening. It's a small place, and food is really expensive!
My home... the beautiful Putuo District of Zhoushan...
The pace is comfortable, the air is good, and there are lots of seafood.
Anyone who goes to the island will stop here.
The restaurants in the nearby hotels have been demolished. You have to wait until the evening to eat at the food stalls.
There was a kind of very ugly fish that was 60 yuan per catty at the beginning, and later it became 15 yuan per catty. It was basically very watery, and they said that the government had set a price limit and that all prices were actual prices. I really couldn’t believe it!
Shenjiamen Fishing Port is China's largest natural fishing port. I've seen it on TV before, but it's hard to imagine the hundreds of thousands of fishermen from over a dozen coastal provinces and cities flocking to the port during the fishing season to catch and sell their catch. At nightfall, the scene of thousands of lights is truly vivid here, and the illuminated fishing lanterns resemble stars in the sky, creating a scene that feels like a starry sky, a masterpiece of oil painting.
Shenjiamen is a perennial hub for fresh fish, crabs, shrimp, shellfish, and other marine products from all over the world. In the evenings, a long line stretches out along the harbor—the Seafood Street. Nearly every seafood stall is bustling with activity, and visitors flock to enjoy the delicious food. As a seafood lover, I couldn't miss such a place, as you can savor a fresh and delicious seafood feast—a true feast for the senses! Of course, you can also buy some dried seafood as souvenirs, which are definitely great for friends and family back home! Many people buy seafood sauce, ganbei (sweet bean paste), shredded squid, seaweed, laver, and red crab.
When you arrive in Shenjiamen, eating seafood is a must!
It's a good place to travel. The beach is OK. Relax with a few friends.
The weather was great, and there were many boats parked at the port. When I saw them from the taxi, I was amazed at how beautiful they were. There was a national flag on each ship, which was very beautiful.
There are many food stalls on the roadside. We went to this one. The food was pretty good. The taxi took us there. The prices were clearly marked. The shrimp and crab were fresh and the meat was very plump. The oysters that cost 2 yuan were really small. After dinner, we took a walk on the beach. The sea breeze was really soothing.
