The Flower Terrace Scenic Area, comprising the Big Flower Terrace and the Small Flower Terrace, is one of Jiuhua Mountain's alpine scenic areas. Located near the site of the "Natural Sleeping Buddha," the area is named for its abundant mountain flowers. It is a scenic area within Jiuhua Mountain Scenic Area, primarily focused on natural landscapes. A new aerial walking trail is currently under construction and is slated to open in May 2017.

Huatai Scenic Area, one of the core scenic areas of Jiuhua Mountain and the heart of Jiuhua Mountain National Forest Park and Geological Park, lies in the central part of Jiuhua Mountain, covering an area of 10 square kilometers. The scenic area boasts magnificent scenery, renowned for its bizarre peaks and rocks, seas of clouds and rime, and a sea of flowers. It is often said that "the beauty of the sacred Jiuhua Mountain lies in Huatai." From April to October each year, the scenic area boasts my country's largest concentration of rare alpine azaleas. In vibrant hues of red, yellow, white, and purple, the azaleas bloom amidst the mountain cliffs, creating a scene reminiscent of a "heavenly street flower market" and a magnificent landscape painting. Unique geological formations have magically formed Jiuhua Mountain's most famous wonder, the "Natural Sleeping Buddha." Ascending Huatai, the highest peak in the scenic area, offers panoramic views of Jiuhua and the opportunity to "get up close and personal with the Sleeping Buddha and listen to his voice," experiencing the Buddha's protection and spiritual energy.
Boasting a subtropical monsoon climate, Huatai Scenic Area transforms with each season, offering a unique experience. In spring, birdsong and fragrance fill the air with vibrant life, "birdsong accompanies bells and drums, and strange pines emerge from the mist." In summer, a dreamy sea of clouds after rain sometimes surges with the imposing force of a raging ocean, sometimes caressing the mountainside like a wisp of veil. In autumn, crimson leaves blanket the mountains, creating a sense of timeless beauty. Winter transforms into a world of silver glass, pure and solemn, like stepping into a fairytale. Huatai Scenic Area is a delightful destination in all seasons. From mid-April to early June, the vibrant alpine azaleas bloom in vibrant colors, creating a scene reminiscent of a "Heavenly Street Flower Market."
